Hi! I've been coding up my app and I needed a way to add a listener to a ChangeNotifier, and then remove it as soon as it's called. I'm not sure if there is a better way to do it, but I thought this was really cool and shows the strengths of Dart:
//creates a listener that only triggers once, and then removes itself void createSelfRemovingListener(void Function() functionToCall, ChangeNotifier notifier){ void Function() f; f = (){ functionToCall(); notifier.removeListener(f); }; notifier.addListener(f); } so, what happens here is function f is defined, and inside the definition of the function, it calls the function that needs to be called. then, it instantly removes the listener (itself). that means if the change notifier sends out 10 events, the listener will only trigger once!Let me know your thoughts!May 23, 2020 at 09:38PM by anthOlei
