'Quirk Girl' stuff appeals to young narcissists who haven't dated much bc they like thinking they're unique people who need unique partners

As they get more experience w/ women, they start to realize none of these 'quirk affectations' are special - millions of other women do the same ones. All of it instructed by posts like this, where these girls see guys responding positively and decide to adopt the mannerism themselves

Many guys out there thought their gf was a special unicorn who developed this chungus burgerhold technique herself. Maybe they're viewing this post and thinking "wow! What a weird coincidence some other girl does it too"

Eventually, they'll start to see posts about all her other strange behaviors, and be forced to confront the realization she's just copying stuff that went minorviral on Tumblr 15 years ago

This is why quirk girls are 100x rarer than they were in the 2000s - everyone's much more online now. You can't pretend your stolen personality is original when posts about it go viral and the algorithm pushes them onto your boyfriend's phone every day. There are few things girls hate more than being thought of as "fake," so for most it's simply not worth the risk

The whole thing's like that drive greentext, except instead of averting disaster at the last minute you crash straight into the Wall of Disillusionment

The Minneapolis City Council has agreed to pay one of the witnesses to George Floyd’s death $150,000 after he sued the city for the emotional damages that resulted from the incident

Donald Williams sued the city in May 2023 for $50,000, alleging that he “has endured and/or will endure medical expenses, emotional distress, pain, suffering, humiliation [and] embarrassment”

Williams called police officer Derek Chauvin a “bum” multiple times and approached the officers, having to be ordered back onto the sidewalk

Williams’ lawsuit alleges that the officers grabbed a canister of chemical spray and began shaking it at him, and that one officer stepped toward him and placed a hand on his chest, resulting in emotional trauma

“I look to my left, I see George Floyd,” Williams told the Minnesota Star Tribune in April 2021, roughly a year after Floyd’s death. “I look to my right, I see George Floyd. I look somewhere else and it’s like I’m always remembering.”
