The White House Digital Assets Report (EO 14178) officially names decentralized physical infrastructure:

Another strong voice joins the decentralized movement 👋

AR.IO has signed the DePIN Pledge, committing to build open and resilient community owned infrastructure together with industry leaders

Their mission within Arweave is to provide decentralized gateways and services that guarantee availability of permanent, censorship resistant information.

So what exactly is the DePIN Pledge?

The DePIN Pledge is an initiative by Fluence that brings together projects committed to real decentralization.

It calls on Web3 builders to reduce reliance on outdated centralized services and instead create infrastructure that is resilient, transparent, and owned by the community.
