Your favorite Movies and TV shows might not be available and loading might flat-out stuck

Some stuff about the new update:

- It has significantly less movies/TV shows, you might not found what you want often.

- Caching is disabled due to technical errors, so seeking backwards will load that part again (it won't be smooth as it used to)

- For some titles upto 4k resolution is supported, though I doubt that the original FlixQuest player will be able to play that on some devices. Instead you can download it using third party downloader apps. It will be easy since it's a direct mp4 link.

- There is option to get the old source back, go to Settings > Player Settings > Video source and choose FlixHQ even though it won't do anything right now since it's not working.

- All of these are temporary measures although it will stay if the original video source is back working, so let's be patient until then.

FlixHQ (the original video source) is back! 🎉🎊

Users with app version < 2.4.2 will be able to view without any problems, same goes for users with v2.4.2 too!

I believe what I'm saying is a bit confusing.

In order to provide working videos, I had to update the app by adding another source called "Showbox" and users have been recently watching through Showbox videos.

But if you tap on the dropbutton you can see "FlixHQ" which was the old and the source that wasn't working for the last 2 days. Since it's back now you can switch back and forth between Showbox and FlixHQ.

I recommend using Showbox if you want 4k streaming or if your internet speed is low and you want stability on streaming.

I recommend using FlixHQ since it has far more variety of movies and TV shows.

I still can't guarantee 100% uptime on FlixHQ

Seems like Showbox isn't working in return, use FlixHQ for now.

Guide on how to change from "Showbox" to "FlixHQ" since Showbox is not working.

Only users with app version v2.4.2 should do this.

- Removed Showbox as it is no longer working, it is back to FlixHQ now.
- Added different custom colors
- Bug fixes

Due to technical problems it looks like streaming in FlixQuest will continue not to work, while this is disappointing there is no fix for it in sight.

I will announce any progress in the streaming aspect.

I'll decide whether to continue developing the app without a streaming feature or not if the problem becomes permanent.
I doubt this though because streaming was the main feature of the app.

It is back working!

For those of you who are still not able to play videos, reopen the app while having internet connection enabled

Guide on how to download videos using MX player:

1. Load the video in FlixQuest click on the "external" button
2. Long press on the resolution you want to download until "copied to clipboard" text is shown, this will copy the video link
3. Open MX player then goto Network stream.
4. Paste the copied link and choose "Download"

I'll release a fix tomorrow that patches some streaming errors but until then try opening the app with internet connection enabled.

Fixed the need to enable internet connection when opening the app in order for streaming to work.

Note that this doesn't eradicate the entire problem, streaming could go down any second nothing can be done about it. Use other alternatives if that happens.

Some of the users here are really disappointing, I am a human and I can't respond to every text instantly, I have a life.

If the movie you want isn't there, that means nothing can be done. If the server is not working, it's not working.

You can uninstall the app and go away, then pay for Netflix and stuff.
No one is forcing you to stick with it.

And please before you say it's not working atleast provide me with the name of the movie/TV series, I'm not a genie that guesses what were you trying to watch. Error message screenshot will help better.

For those who don't know Amharic the screenshot here is just a mediocre insult.

And also if you have a problem playing the video (if it's buffering a lot or if the video fails to load), copy the video link and play it using MX player, VLC and basically any other player.

You can also play using VLC on PC if you copy the link.

You can basically use the app to get the links and play the video or download it somewhere else
