The was originally supposed to premiere at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival before was cancelled, later showing up at the Zurich Film Festival and many others. It's a wonderful film about young French teens watching as their beloved housing project is demolished. What's your dream? In Gagarine, a teenager who dreams of being an astronaut turns the housing project where he lives, a massive brick city on the brink of destruction, into a starship before it disappears into space entirely. "We all have monsters within us... it's up to us to control it." Sony Pictures has revealed the third & final official trailer for Morbius, co-produced by Marvel Studios starring Jared Leto as the "superhero" known as Morbius the Living Vampire. The story follows a brilliant biochemist named Michael Morbius who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead. And thus he becomes "the living vampire" - though is he a villain or a hero? The cast includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, Charlie Shotwell, and Tyrese Gibson. We posted the first trailer for this way back in 2020, and after numerous delays it's finally set to open in April this year. Sony really wants this to be another epic Marvel hit but this just doesn't seem to have the chops to pull that off. They even put in that "a new Marvel legend arrives" voice at the end. "The world as we know it is coming undone..." "Things are not quite what they appear." WB has debuted the second trailer for the next Fantastic Beasts movie, known officially as Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. This sequel continues with the Wizarding World series after the last movie (The Crimes of Grindelwald) from 2018. We featured the first trailer late last year. Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is trying to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Newt to lead a team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old & new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. Jude Law stars in this one as a "younger" Albus Dumbledore, and Mads Mikkelsen co-stars as Gellert Grindelwald. The old cast is also back: Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Dan Fogler, & Jessica Williams. As we get closer and closer to the Academy Awards this year (coming up on March 28th), the next important set of winners have been revealed. The 28th annual SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards) honor the greatest performances from 2021, as chosen by other actors which means this is one of the most definitive lists of the best performances. All of the nominees, too. Actors know their profession better than anyone and are very particular about good performances. So what did they pick from 2021? I am considerably happy with all four of the individual winners this year - especially Troy Kotsur and Ariana DeBose. And while we don't cover TV winners, "Squid Game" also won three awards! Kino Lorber has dropped a new trailer for the long lost action classic Stunt Rock, an Australian stuntman film from 1978 that's being re-released as a 4K restoration. While working on a TV show in L.A., famed Australian stuntman Grant Page helps an up-and-coming fantasy-themed rock band develop special FX and dangerous stunts for their act. "I know I'm not your mum, and you know I'm not your mum." Whoa this looks crazy fresh! HBO revealed a teaser trailer for a new dark comedy horror thriller series titled The Baby, created by Lucy Gaymer & Sian Robins-Grace. It is indeed a new series about a woman and a baby, but uh, it's definitely not what you're expecting. At all. When 38-year-old Natasha is unexpectedly landed with a baby, her life of doing what she wants, when she wants, dramatically implodes... "Where does it come from? What does it want? And what lengths will Natasha have to go to in order to get her life back? She doesn't want a baby. The baby wants her." It stars Michelle De Swarte as Natasha, Amira Ghazalla, Amber Grappy, Patrice Naiambana, Sinéad Cusack, Shvorne Marks, Isy Suttie, Tanya Reynolds, Seyan Sarvan, Divian Ladwa, plus Karl Davies. This almost seems like it's breaking the taboo that you have to be extra sensitive and caring and sweet around babies, making a show that humorously asks "WTF?" "Tell me - do you enjoy existing?" Damn, what a question. Saban Films has released an official trailer for the film Chariot, an intriguing psychological thriller mixed with a bit of sci-fi. A story about a corporation and a doctor, played by John Malkovich, that oversees the process of reincarnation, and a young man named Harrison who becomes a glitch in the system when he encounters a woman he loved in a previous life. That concept initially makes me think of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind along with that Transcendence movie, though involving reincarnation and not A.I. this time. Another description states the film is a "dark and twisted thriller." Thomas Mann stars with Rosa Salazar, plus Scout Taylor Compton, Vernon Davis, Chris Mullinax, Shane West, and Malkovich. Netflix has revealed the full-length official trailer for The Adam Project, a new sci-fi adventure movie starring Ryan Reynolds. We featured the first teaser a few weeks ago after glowing reviews hit the web. A time-traveling pilot teams up with his younger self and his late father to come to terms with his past while saving the future. It doesn't sound like much, but the reviews are comparing this to Spielberg and Zemeckis. Ryan Reynolds teams up with a younger version of himself, confronting both his past and troubles growing up, while also saving the future. The cast includes Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Walker Scobell, with Catherine Keener, and Zoe Saldaña. From director Shawn Levy, who recently made Free Guy with Reynolds. "I promised him I'd never quit." Music Box Films has revealed an official trailer for The Rose Maker, an indie comedy from France that originally premiered in 2020. It's finally opened in the US this April after first debuting in French cinemas last summer. Eve Vernet was the largest rose grower. It is now on the verge of bankruptcy, on the verge of being bought out by a powerful competitor. In addition, Véra, her faithful secretary, employed three ex-convict employees without any gardening skills. They must team up to rescue the business and save her flowers. La Fine Fleur (which translates to The Fine Flower) stars Catherine Frot, Manel Foulgoc, Fatsah Bouyahmed, Olivia Côte, Marie Petiot, Vincent Dedienne, as well as Rukkmini Ghosh. This actually looks quite charming! I love a good underdog story about someone who figures out how to make things work on her own, while discovering the hidden talents of newcomers. "Mountains always listen... and never talk back." Bleecker Street has debuted a trailer for Infinite Storm, the true story of a woman who found a man lost in the snow on a mountain. Based on the beloved article "High Places: Footprints in the Snow Lead to an Emotional Rescue" by Ty Gagne, originally published in Reader's Digest. An experienced hiker attempts to save a stranger during a blizzard on Mount Washington. Naomi Watts stars as Pam Bales, who goes out for a hike on a day where a storm hits but before she comes back she finds a man and takes it upon herself to get them both down the mountain before nightfall arrives and they succumb to the storm. In addition to Watts, the cast includes Billy Howle, Sophie Okonedo, Denis O'Hare, and Parker Sawyers. "Gravity is broken - leap as you like." Netflix has debuted the full-length trailer for a new anime film called Bubble, from "Death Note" and "Attack on Titan" filmmaker Tetsuro Araki. Here's the concept: The story is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down on the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building. Hibiki, a young ace known for his dangerous play style, makes a reckless move one day and plummets into the gravity-bending sea. His life is saved by Uta, a girl with mysterious powers. The pair then hear a unique sound audible only to them. Why did Uta appear before Hibiki? Their encounter leads to a revelation that will change the world. The voice cast features Jun Shison, Mamoru Miyano, Yuki Kaji, and Tasuku Hatanaka. This looks super trippy and creative, with so many ambitious ideas in one movie. What is going onnn?! "One day, we'll laugh at all this." Kino Lorber has revealed an official trailer for Hit the Road, an award-winning, outstanding little indie film from Iran. It's the feature debut of filmmaker Panah Panahi, who just so happens to be the son of acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi. This premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival last year in the Director's Fortnight section and ended up with tons of rave reviews (one of my favorites of the fest). The film follows a chaotic, tender Iranian family that has embarked upon a a road trip across a rugged landscape and fussing over the sick dog and getting on each others' nerves along the way. Only the mysterious older brother is quiet, as he is headed somewhere else. Panah Panahi "makes a striking feature debut with this charming, sharp-witted, and deeply moving comic drama." The film stars Pantea Panahiha, Hasan Majuni, Rayan Sarlak, and Amin Simiar. This is one of the best international films from last year that everyone must see when they get a chance. Following up the fantastic documentary last year, also titled just Julia (which is out to watch at home), this series tells the life story of American chef Julia Child. It is also inspired her long-running, beloved TV series, "The French Chef," which pioneered the modern cooking show. "What do you do when someone's mean?" IFC Midnight has unveiled an official US trailer for a freaky little Norwegian thriller about kids with powers called The Innocents, made by a writer / director named Eskil Vogt. In addition to directing the film Blind, which made my Top 10 in 2014, Vogt is also a co-writer on the Oscar-nominated The Worst Person in the World with his fellow filmmaker Joachim Trier. But this one is a bit scarier. During the bright Nordic summer, a group of children reveal their dark and mysterious powers when the adults aren't looking. In this original, gripping supernatural thriller, playtime takes a dangerous turn. The films stars Rakel Lenora Fløttum as Ida, Alva Brynsmo Ramstad as Anna, Sam Ashraf as Ben, and Mina Yasmin Bremseth Asheim as Aisha. Sony Pictures has revealed the first trailer for an intriguing new horror thriller titled Umma, the first narrative feature directed by a filmmaker named Iris K. Shim. They just scheduled this for wide release on March 18th in a few weeks, getting some horror into theaters right away. The story involves a Korean immigrant named Amanda, who lives a quiet life with her daughter on an American farm. But when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her mother. Sandra Oh stars as Amanda, with a cast including Fivel Stewart, Dermot Mulroney, Odeya Rush, MeeWha Alana Lee, and Tom Yi. And best of all - it's produced by Sam Raimi! We featured the viral ad teaser last week to build hype. The plot involves five assassins aboard this train who discover their missions all have something in common. An original movie event, Bullet Train is a fun, delirious action-thriller from the director of Deadpool 2, David Leitch. "You want to wipe everybody out?" Paramount has revealed a brand new official trailer for their 4K re-release of the entire The Godfather trilogy. Back in January we posted the trailer for just the first movie, but now there's a trailer for all three - being re-released together in a 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray package this March. The set will include The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, and Coppola's recently re-edited version of the final film, Mario Puzo's The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. It includes legacy commentaries by Coppola, as well as access to digital copies of each movie. "I am very proud of The Godfather, which certainly defined the first third of my creative life," said Francis Ford Coppola. Amazon has revealed an official trailer for the indie horror thriller titled Master, marking the feature debut of filmmaker Mariama Diallo. We just posted her excellent short film Hair Wolf a few weeks ago and now her feature is ready to be seen. It premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and is on Prime Video later this March. Two African American women begin to share disturbing experiences at a predominantly white university in New England. Regina Hall stars as a professor who has recently been promoted to "Master" of a residence hall. The arrival of a new Black student sets off a chain of events that makes them all confront systemic racism. "After a career spent fighting to make it into Ancaster's inner circle, Gail is confronted with the horrifying prospect of what lies beneath, her question ultimately becoming not whether the school is haunted, but by whom." This is one of the most compelling depictions of racism as horror I've ever seen. Highly recommend watching. The film also stars Zoe Renee, Talia Ryder, Talia Balsam, Amber Gray. "I'm not taking my hands off the truck, man." BritFlicks has revealed an official UK trailer for an indie film titled One of These Days, set in a small town in America, made by a German filmmaker named Bastian Günther. This first premiered in 2020 at the Berlin Film Festival but has never been released since then and still doesn't have a US release set yet. One of These Days follows competitors at one of these "Hands On" events where people have to keep their hand on a car to win it, which is a crazy thing to do but people are really desperate and "need" that truck. In a town in Texas, an annual endurance contest to win a pickup truck promises thrilling entertainment to spectators and the chance of a lifetime to participants, but ends in real tragedy. This stars Carrie Preston, Joe Cole, Callie Hernandez, Lucy Faust, Devyn A. Tyler, Ritchie Montgomery, Jesse C. Boyd, and Cullen Moss. Apple TV+ has revealed an official trailer for their new original series Slow Horses, adapted from Mick Herron's bestselling book of the same name. This darkly funny espionage drama follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5, known as the Slough House, due to their career-ending mistakes. Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb, they navigate the espionage world's smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces. There has to be more to it than just that! I thought it be much funnier, but instead this reminds me of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The series ensemble cast includes Chris Reilly, Gary Oldman, Rosalind Eleazar, Olivia Cooke, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Stephen Walters, Freddie Fox, Jack Lowden, Sam Hazeldine, Dustin Demri-Burns, Antonio Aakeel, and Christopher Chung.
