It seems a bit strange that they'd decide to make an entire series about nepotism, but these three kids literally are "living in the shadow of greatness" no matter how you frame it. The six-part series from 11-time Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jonathan Hock follows the athletic pursuits of the children of sports icons Dwyane Wade, Evander Holyfield, and Randall Cunningham as they attempt to make their own mark on the world. It focuses on Zaire Wade, Evan Holyfield, and Vashti Cunningham. This is a rather lackluster trailer so far, not that these people aren't working hard, but it just seems so obvious. "It's the only realistic form of self-defense!" IFC Films has revealed an official trailer for an indie film titled Barbarians, a horror thriller from the UK opening in the US this April. This one played at both Fantastic Fest and at the Sitges Film Festival last fall to kick things off. Barbarians finds four friends' excursion to a remote country house taking a bizarre and violent turn when uninvited guests show up. This seems like a British dark comedy twist on Funny Games, with a dash of You're Next thrown in to spice it up. A dinner party in a country house brings four friends together for a birthday celebration. But as the night progresses secrets emerge and unsettling events begin to unfold around them. "Who wins in a fight - the smart guy, or the crazy guy?" Apple TV has debuted a full-length official trailer for the series WeCrashed, about another business flop story. Arriving on Apple streaming this March. The series tells the story of the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world's most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. "Inspired by actual events — and the love story at the center of it all. WeWork grew from a single coworking space into a global brand worth $47 billion in under a decade. Then, in less than a year, its value plummeted. What happened?" Oh we all know what happened, but of course it makes for a good TV show to watch narcissistic, vane people make greedy, foolish mistakes. Too many stories like this. We've been posting a new trailer every year over the last few years (one in 2020, another in 2021) for this 80s nostalgia documentary In Search of Tomorrow, and it's finally ready to debut. journalist / director David A. Weiner's follow-up to his doc about 80s horror In Search of Darkness, this focuses on the treasure trove of science fiction films made in the 80s. "A five-hour-long retrospective of '80s sci-fi movies featuring interviews with actors, directors, writers, SFX experts, and composers." This epic four minute new trailer features a sampling of interviews spliced with footage from all of your 80s favorites including Star Trek, The Last Starfighter, Bill & Ted, Flight of the Navigator, Tron, BTTF, Weird Science, Starman, Innerspace, and many others. Vertical Ent. has released a trailer for an indie thriller titled Measure of Revenge, marking the feature directorial debut of a director called "Peyfa" - with no past credits or any other details about them. The film is arriving on VOD in March if anyone is interested. Melissa Leo stars as a Broadway actress who is making her final on-stage appearance when her famous son, Curtis, is found dead. When his death is ruled as an accidental overdose, a suspicious Lillian decides to take matters into her own hands. "You put peace out in the world, you get peace back." Take a look at this. Sony has quietly released a little viral marketing ad for an action movie arriving his summer called Bullet Train. Yes, it's set on a bullet train, which almost makes me feel like we're in the 90s waiting for the next kick ass train action movie. The ad is for a fictional train line in Japan called "Nippon Speed Line" or NSL, with some stunning footage of the train in Japan. It ends with a shot of a beat up Brad Pitt taking a rest in what looks like a slight break in the action. The plot involves five assassins aboard this train who discover their missions all have something in common. "Join us for a truly unforgettable experience with a new way to travel: tranquil, comfortable, and fast." The ad also hints that the full trailer for Bullet Train is debuting on March 2nd, an the NSL website has a huge countdown time on it, too. "Brave, bold, brilliant." Bulldog Distr. in the UK has revealed the trailer for a film called Europa, which originally premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival last year in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar. This film is essentially Son of Saul but for Middle Eastern refugees in Europe today. It has the same intense, non-stop focus on just one Iraqi refugee on the run on the Turkey-Bulgaria border. Europa is based on real events happening on the dangerous 'Balkan Route' where migrants are smuggled into Europe across the Turkish border and are often subject to violence, intimidation and illegal pushback. Iraqi-Italian filmmaker Haider Rashid's goal was to create an immersive experience to allow the audience to be with the character, close to him, sometimes breathing with him, and to create questions in the audience's mind, testing their definition of empathy, as this character of whom they know very little, tries to survive and remain a human. It's screening in the Midnighters section at the festival, as another brutal social media horror thriller for the digital age. Invited away on a bachelorette weekend, "Sissy" ends up stuck in a cabin with her old high school bully. Cecilia is a successful social media influencer living the dream of an independent, modern millennial woman... until she runs into Emma for the first time in over a decade. This looks like it gets super crazy out in the woods! "The GameStop frenzy ripped the curtains of how rigged our markets really are." HBO has revealed the trailer for a doc titled Gaming Wall Street, the second doc about the GameStop stock debacle. Paramount also already debuted their own doc GameStop: Rise of the Players on Paramount+, and HBO has dropped in with their rival offering on the same story. "The underdogs had the upper hand, but then what happened?" Gaming Wall Street is narrated by Kieran Culkin, best known recently as Roman on HBO's "Succession". The director explains: "I wanted to create a compelling documentary about a niche online community which grew into the movement behind GameStop and momentarily shifted the balance of power on Wall Street. Yeah, it's true, sh_t does happen. This mesmerizing Czech short film is a superbly creative, quirky, amusing animation creation that is worth your time. Sh_t Happens was made as a graduation project by animation filmmakers Michaela Mihályi & David Stumpf. It premiered in 2019 at the Venice Film Festival, then stopped by a bunch of other fests, including Sundance, L'Étrange, and the Brussels Animation Film Festival. It's set at apartment building full of self centered inhabitants. Utterly exhausted caretaker and his sexually frustrated wife. Widowed deer drowning his sorrows in loads of alcohol. While trying to cope with problems, they find themselves in a hard to solve triangle asking for absurd and irrational solutions. The consequences can easily become permanent, sometimes maybe too permanent. I always enjoy off-beat animation like this, so absurdly creative and alluring. He is one of Werner Herzog's sons, and has been a filmmaker for years already, with a few other feature films so far and lots of TV documentaries. It seems the younger Herzog is exploring one of the few places Werner has not yet been to: space! The was originally supposed to premiere at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival before was cancelled, later showing up at the Zurich Film Festival and many others. It's a wonderful film about young French teens watching as their beloved housing project is demolished. What's your dream? In Gagarine, a teenager who dreams of being an astronaut turns the housing project where he lives, a massive brick city on the brink of destruction, into a starship before it disappears into space entirely. Sony Pictures has revealed the third & final official trailer for Morbius, co-produced by Marvel Studios starring Jared Leto as the "superhero" known as Morbius the Living Vampire. The story follows a brilliant biochemist named Michael Morbius who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead. And thus he becomes "the living vampire" - though is he a villain or a hero? The cast includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, Charlie Shotwell, and Tyrese Gibson. We posted the first trailer for this way back in 2020, and after numerous delays it's finally set to open in April this year. "The world as we know it is coming undone..." "Things are not quite what they appear." WB has debuted the second trailer for the next Fantastic Beasts movie, known officially as Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. This sequel continues with the Wizarding World series after the last movie (The Crimes of Grindelwald) from 2018. We featured the first trailer late last year. Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is trying to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Newt to lead a team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old & new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. Jude Law stars in this one as a "younger" Albus Dumbledore, and Mads Mikkelsen co-stars as Gellert Grindelwald. As we get closer and closer to the Academy Awards this year (coming up on March 28th), the next important set of winners have been revealed. The 28th annual SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards) honor the greatest performances from 2021, as chosen by other actors which means this is one of the most definitive lists of the best performances. All of the nominees, too. Actors know their profession better than anyone and are very particular about good performances. So what did they pick from 2021? HBO revealed a teaser trailer for a new dark comedy horror thriller series titled The Baby, created by Lucy Gaymer & Sian Robins-Grace. It is indeed a new series about a woman and a baby, but uh, it's definitely not what you're expecting. At all. When 38-year-old Natasha is unexpectedly landed with a baby, her life of doing what she wants, when she wants, dramatically implodes... "Where does it come from? What does it want? And what lengths will Natasha have to go to in order to get her life back? She doesn't want a baby. The baby wants her." "Tell me - do you enjoy existing?" Damn, what a question. Saban Films has released an official trailer for the film Chariot, an intriguing psychological thriller mixed with a bit of sci-fi. A story about a corporation and a doctor, played by John Malkovich, that oversees the process of reincarnation, and a young man named Harrison who becomes a glitch in the system when he encounters a woman he loved in a previous life. That concept initially makes me think of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind along with that Transcendence movie, though involving reincarnation and not A.I. this time. Another description states the film is a "dark and twisted thriller." Thomas Mann stars with Rosa Salazar, plus Scout Taylor Compton, Vernon Davis, Chris Mullinax, Shane West, and Malkovich. Netflix has revealed the full-length official trailer for The Adam Project, a new sci-fi adventure movie starring Ryan Reynolds. We featured the first teaser a few weeks ago after glowing reviews hit the web. A time-traveling pilot teams up with his younger self and his late father to come to terms with his past while saving the future. It doesn't sound like much, but the reviews are comparing this to Spielberg and Zemeckis. Ryan Reynolds teams up with a younger version of himself, confronting both his past and troubles growing up, while also saving the future. The cast includes Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Walker Scobell, with Catherine Keener, and Zoe Saldaña. From director Shawn Levy, who recently made Free Guy with Reynolds.
