The film is opening in Finland first in April, then in the US this May. The film is about a mother who needs to confront the unbearable truth about her surviving twin son. She must "unravel the torturous truth about her son and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take a hold of him." Teresa Palmer stars, along with Steven Cree, Barbara Marten, and Tristan Ruggeri playing both of the twin boys. Another epic horror thriller from Finland! Wow - this has some incredible shots in it. Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a docu-series called The Andy Warhol Diaries, made by acclaimed doc filmmaker Andrew Rossi, and executive produced by Ryan Murphy. After he's shot in 1968, Andy Warhol begins documenting his life and feelings. Those diaries, and this docuseries, take a peek behind his persona. This breathtakingly expansive, six-part portrait of a legend chronicles the remarkable life of Andy Warhol from the intimate vantage point offered by the artist’s own posthumously published diaries. The filmmakers say that "The Andy Warhol Diaries deftly validates Warhol’s belief that the idea is not to live forever but to create art that will." It also features many of those who worked, created, and played alongside him from the subversive to the mainstream, from John Waters to Rob Lowe. "Show them the best parts and mislead them to create interest." GKids US has released a teaser trailer for the Japanese anime film known as Pompo the Cinephile, which opened in Japan last summer. It's finally getting a theatrical release in the US starting at the end of April this year. Pompo the Cinephile (originally 映画大好きポンポさん) is a rollicking, exuberant ode to the power of the movies, and the joys and heartbreak of the creative process, as a new director and his team devote their lives to the pursuit of a "masterpiece." Fueled by the excitement from the film's domestic release in Japan, a crowdfunding campaign to create a 35mm print of the feature achieved its fundraising goals of ¥10,000,000 in just eleven days. Featuring the voices of Konomi Kohara, Hiroya Shimizu, and Akio Ôtsuka. It is a bit of a challenge for most anime to find a bigger audience in the US (unless it's Ghibli or Ponoc or Shinkai or Hosoda) but this kind of story about making movies is exactly the kind that can break out here. "This is the moment to save our world." IMAX has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film called The Last Glaciers, an IMAX experience hitting theaters exclusively in March. "Embark on a global IMAX adventure where explorers use extreme sports to investigate climate change." The Last Glaciers doc project began as a personal extreme sports challenge between Craig and Malcom. The filmmaking team climbed a 5800m mountain in Peru twice in two days to attempt to be the first to tandem paraglide off the summit and survive the endeavor. As their awareness of the climate crisis grew, so too did the compulsion to dive deeply into the science and to tell what we think is a story of critical importance for humanity and particularly the next generation. It was shot using 4K ultra-HD cameras in some of the world's most challenging filming locations in 12 different countries. The film also features breathtaking cinematography and original music composed by Grammy-nominated producers Above & Beyond. Whoaaaa! This looks awesome. There's a badass new project in the works from the two talented filmmakers Zeek Earl & Chris Caldwell, best known for turning their short into a feature film called Prospect (which we highly, highly recommend watching - it's on Hulu now). Their latest idea is called The Fringe, and it's essentially a new "sci-fi, cinematic universe" set in space following scavengers or freelancers called Drifters: miners, engineers, bounty hunters, trappers, mercenaries, gastrotechs. They've decided to dip into NFTs to try "new model of film financing that will put full creative control back into the hands of the film's artistic team." The NFT collection will be comprised of in-world characters called Drifters. "The NFT project will be an immersive narrative experience that will introduce fans to the universe in novel ways, creating a portal into the world’s lore via the art and other integrated mediums like an in-world compendium." "There's something wrong with this place..." RLJE Films and Shudder have unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled Offseason, which originally premiered at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival last year, later stopping by a few other fests. The film is made by an indie filmmaker named Mickey Keating, his seventh feature film so far. After receiving a mysterious letter about her mother's grave, a woman travels to a desolate island town to find out what's wrong and soon becomes trapped in an inescapable nightmare. Starring Jocelin Donahue as Marie, along with Joe Swanberg, Richard Brake, Melora Walters, and Jeremy Gardner. This trailer gives away a lot of the film, but I guess they're trying anything to get people interested somehow. I caught this during SXSW and I was not the biggest fan. "I wonder how something so horrific... could have come to pass." FX + Hulu have debuted a teaser trailer for a new true crime thriller series titled Under the Banner of Heaven, based on the Jon Krakauer book of the same name. It tells the true story of a double murder committed by two fundamentalist Mormons in the 1980s. A devout detective's faith is tested as he investigates a brutal murder seemingly connected to an esteemed Utah family's spiral into LDS fundamentalism and their distrust in the government. The series follows the detective who is a FLDS member, starring Andrew Garfield as Pyre. Featuring an impressive ensemble cast with Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sam Worthington, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Billy Howle, Gil Birmingham, Adelaide Clemens, and Rory Culkin. "The legacy really speaks for itself." Discovery has revealed the first offiical trailer for a documentary series about athletes titled Legacy: In the Shadow of Greatness. It seems a bit strange that they'd decide to make an entire series about nepotism, but these three kids literally are "living in the shadow of greatness" no matter how you frame it. The six-part series from 11-time Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jonathan Hock follows the athletic pursuits of the children of sports icons Dwyane Wade, Evander Holyfield, and Randall Cunningham as they attempt to make their own mark on the world. It focuses on Zaire Wade, Evan Holyfield, and Vashti Cunningham. This is a rather lackluster trailer so far, not that these people aren't working hard, but it just seems so obvious. This one played at both Fantastic Fest and at the Sitges Film Festival last fall to kick things off. Barbarians finds four friends' excursion to a remote country house taking a bizarre and violent turn when uninvited guests show up. This seems like a British dark comedy twist on Funny Games, with a dash of You're Next thrown in to spice it up. A dinner party in a country house brings four friends together for a birthday celebration. But as the night progresses secrets emerge and unsettling events begin to unfold around them. "Who wins in a fight - the smart guy, or the crazy guy?" Apple TV has debuted a full-length official trailer for the series WeCrashed, about another business flop story. Arriving on Apple streaming this March. The series tells the story of the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world's most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. "Inspired by actual events — and the love story at the center of it all. WeWork grew from a single coworking space into a global brand worth $47 billion in under a decade. Then, in less than a year, its value plummeted. What happened?" We've been posting a new trailer every year over the last few years (one in 2020, another in 2021) for this 80s nostalgia documentary In Search of Tomorrow, and it's finally ready to debut. journalist / director David A. Weiner's follow-up to his doc about 80s horror In Search of Darkness, this focuses on the treasure trove of science fiction films made in the 80s. "A five-hour-long retrospective of '80s sci-fi movies featuring interviews with actors, directors, writers, SFX experts, and composers." "You put peace out in the world, you get peace back." Take a look at this. Sony has quietly released a little viral marketing ad for an action movie arriving his summer called Bullet Train. Yes, it's set on a bullet train, which almost makes me feel like we're in the 90s waiting for the next kick ass train action movie. The ad is for a fictional train line in Japan called "Nippon Speed Line" or NSL, with some stunning footage of the train in Japan. It ends with a shot of a beat up Brad Pitt taking a rest in what looks like a slight break in the action. The plot involves five assassins aboard this train who discover their missions all have something in common. "Join us for a truly unforgettable experience with a new way to travel: tranquil, comfortable, and fast." The ad also hints that the full trailer for Bullet Train is debuting on March 2nd, an the NSL website has a huge countdown time on it, too. Bulldog Distr. in the UK has revealed the trailer for a film called Europa, which originally premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival last year in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar. This film is essentially Son of Saul but for Middle Eastern refugees in Europe today. It has the same intense, non-stop focus on just one Iraqi refugee on the run on the Turkey-Bulgaria border. Europa is based on real events happening on the dangerous 'Balkan Route' where migrants are smuggled into Europe across the Turkish border and are often subject to violence, intimidation and illegal pushback. Iraqi-Italian filmmaker Haider Rashid's goal was to create an immersive experience to allow the audience to be with the character, close to him, sometimes breathing with him, and to create questions in the audience's mind, testing their definition of empathy, as this character of whom they know very little, tries to survive and remain a human. Paramount also already debuted their own doc GameStop: Rise of the Players on Paramount+, and HBO has dropped in with their rival offering on the same story. "The underdogs had the upper hand, but then what happened?" Gaming Wall Street is narrated by Kieran Culkin, best known recently as Roman on HBO's "Succession".
