Just came across this and thought it’d be worth sharing.

It’s a research report on how designers are actually using AI, instead of the usual “will AI replace designers?” conversation

I haven’t gone through all of it yet, but it looks pretty interesting, especially if you’re a product designer, brand designer, or work with engineers and design teams.

Give it a look when you get a chance,, and if you find sth interesting, share your thoughts. Would love to hear it

If you’re looking for logo inspiration (ofc besides Pinterest 😁), save this one
Lots of really solid references, and they keep adding new ones quite regularly.

The only catch is that the site is in Chinese (you can switch it to English) 😊 but honestly, still worth having in your bookmarks.

A logo doesn’t always need to explain exactly what a business does.

Sometimes, it just needs to be distinctive, memorable, and ownable.

Don’t pick a colour just bc it looks good. Give it a reason.

I was looking through Motto’s rebrand for CloudBees, and one detail really stood out to me

Instead of choosing purple bc it feels “techy,” they started with an idea. (here’s where it gets interesting 😎)

Bees see the world differently from us, they perceive the world in ultraviolet light, which enabling them to make informed decisions. Motto connected that how CloudBees helps developers see complex software environments with more clarity and make better decisions.

That connection became the visual direction.

The ultraviolet-inspired spectrum, gradients, and colors are not just there to make the brand look good. They represent the brand’s distinctive way of seeing. (inspired by nature)

That’s the part I love 👌

When color comes from an actual idea, it feels more intentional. It becomes part of the story, not just decoration.

Most of us, me included, sometimes pick a color bc it looks good or bc we saw sth similar in an inspiration/reference

I think that’s sth I need to remind myself more often:
Don’t start with the color. Start with the idea.

Then find a visual way to make people feel that idea.

Really good project to study (there’s a lot we can learn from it)
