Nvidia’s CFO has crossed the billion-dollar net worth mark.

Nvidia’s unprecedented climb past a $4 trillion market cap this summer has not only set global valuation records, but has also made its CFO, Colette Kress, a billionaire.

On July 29, Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index listed Kress with a net worth exceeding $1 billion thanks largely to her equity holdings in the chipmaker. According to Bloomberg data, Kress owns or has options for more than 5.4 million Nvidia shares, worth roughly $1 billion at current prices.

Who says you can’t become a billionaire through a job?

Meta Just Paid $250M To Lure This 24-year-old AI Whiz Kid

Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) has reportedly invested a staggering $250 million to secure the talents of 24-year-old AI prodigy, Matt Deitke.

What Happened: Deitke, a former doctoral student at the University of Washington, initially turned down Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s offer of around $125 million over four years.

However, following a meeting with Zuckerberg, Deitke accepted a revised offer of approximately $250 million, with the potential to earn $100 million in the first year alone.

So, the question is:

Do you think the current investment in AI is just hype, and are we heading toward a bubble like the one in the early 2000s?

This file contains a list of universities worldwide whose master’s programs are ranked in the following subjects:

- MBA
- Management
- Finance
- Business Analytics
- Marketing
- Supply Chain Management.

When choosing a master’s degree, it’s strongly recommended to focus on subject-specific rankings rather than overall university rankings, since some highly ranked universities may not offer the program you’re interested in.

For example, in the Master of Finance rankings, the top three programs are Oxford (Saïd), HEC Paris, and MIT (Sloan).

Peng Zhao: Peking University’s math genius leading Citadel

Peng Zhao, CEO of Citadel Securities, was born and raised in Beijing, China. He earned his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Peking University in 2001.

His passion for finance and statistics led him to the United States, where he pursued a PhD in statistics at the University of California, Berkeley.

After completing his doctorate, Peng joined Citadel Securities in 2006 as a senior quantitative researcher. Within just a few years, he gained recognition as one of the firm’s top statisticians.

In 2012, Peng was promoted to global head of market making, and by 2017, he became the company’s chief executive officer.

Outside of Citadel, Peng is a founding board member of The Asian American Foundation and serves on the board of directors for the National Committee on US-China Relations.

So, what can we conclude from that? Study Maths guys... It is not just to become a Maths teacher.

Dollar billionaires in Kazakhstan

Each billionaire on the list owns or holds a stake in a bank. Five out of six, except Vyacheslav, are involved in mining or own mineral deposits.

Financial and resource sectors dominate their assets, which is a rare combination for a single country. Some have diversified into retail, real estate, or energy, but the core of their wealth remains in banks and resources. Cross-ownership through joint projects is present. There are no tech companies among the key assets.

Their fortunes were built in the post-Soviet period, with no inherited empires. Most wealth is tied to Kazakhstan’s domestic market rather than global companies, and assets are mostly concentrated in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.

Do you think Uzbekistan will produce billionaires in the finance industry? If not in which industry?

Share of the population without access to the services of banks or similar organizations worldwide in 2024, by country

Uzbekistan - 40.34%
Tajikistan - 47.53%
Kazakhstan - 15.8%
Kyrgyzstan - 30.04%
Russia - 20.76%

While having such a large percentage of the population without access to banking services is not ideal, it highlights both an opportunity and a significant demand for financial services.

What do you think about above statistics?

Uzbek Startup Uzum Eyes IPO After $65M Funding

In August, Uzum raised $65 million, reaching a $1.5 billion valuation. Now, the company is planning to go public. According to co-founder Nikolay Seleznev, Uzum is targeting a potential IPO in 2027, with possible listings in Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, or Nasdaq.

Before that, the startup plans to enter international bond markets, aiming for a $300 million debut bond sale in the first half of 2026.

💡 A Quick Look at IPOs

An IPO (Initial Public Offering) is when a private company sells its shares to the public for the first time. It helps companies raise money, give early investors a chance to sell, and gain credibility.

The first IPO in history was by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in 1602. Back then, there were no investment banks — the company and local merchants handled everything. By the 20th century, banks like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley became essential, helping companies price shares and connect with investors.

Some of the most famous IPOs in history are:

Microsoft (1986) – Raised $61 million, starting the modern tech IPO boom.
Apple (1980) – Raised $100 million, giving early investors huge returns.
Google (2004) – Raised $1.7 billion, fueling its growth into Alphabet.
Facebook (2012) – Raised $16 billion, one of the largest social media IPOs.
Alibaba (2014) – Raised $25 billion on the NYSE, a record at the time.
Saudi Aramco (2019) – Raised $29.4 billion, the largest IPO ever.

🇺🇿 IPOs in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is also stepping into the IPO world. The Quartz Glass Factory went public in 2017, followed by UzAuto Motors in 2022. In 2023, Uztelecom and Uzbekinvest started trading on the Tashkent Stock Exchange.

Now, Uzbek companies are looking at international IPOs. Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company (NMMC) plans a dual listing in London and Tashkent, with banks like Citi, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan managing the process. The Uzbek National Investment Fund (UzNIF) is also preparing a global IPO with guidance from Franklin Templeton.

These moves are helping Uzbekistan attract foreign investment, increase transparency, and grow its economy, while giving both local and international investors a chance to participate.
