The conversation with Islom aka was truly inspiring and engaging. He generously shared his remarkable journey, from his role at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan to securing a full-ride scholarship at Tufts University and ultimately landing a position as a Research Analyst at the IMF. I’m incredibly grateful for the time he dedicated to this interview. Originally planned for 1.5 hours, our discussion stretched to nearly two hours because it was so captivating!

As a first-time interviewer, I felt a bit nervous going in, but Islom aka called me beforehand for a brief chat, which helped me relax and made the experience enjoyable.

Stay tuned—the recording will soon be uploaded to YouTube!

Best,
Anvarjon Kukonov

AI Agent for Excel

I have tried using shortcut.ai and apparently it can finish Financial Modeling World Championship tasks 10 times faster than humans and can beat analysts from Goldman and McKinsey.

It costs a minimum of $40 a month, but I decided to use the free trial.

You can see the attached file above which was fully created by an AI agent in under 15 minutes and I just gave a clear prompt on what to do in the beginning and that was it.

What it did:

Cash Flow Analysis: Built 12-month cash flow projection model, created KPI dashboard with key metrics, added scenario analysis capabilities

SaaS Comparable Company Analysis: Created target company profile, built comparable companies database, performed trading multiples analysis, generated valuation summary with recommendations

What do you think about its work?
Let me know your feedback.

Quote of the day from our latest episode 13:

"The reason why you are not selected might not be you. It might be some other external factors. You should always keep applying to jobs."

Islom Urolov's path to the IMF included a crucial rejection, but his persistence led to a second chance. He reminds us that resilience is the most important skill in a competitive job market.

Nvidia’s CFO has crossed the billion-dollar net worth mark.

Nvidia’s unprecedented climb past a $4 trillion market cap this summer has not only set global valuation records, but has also made its CFO, Colette Kress, a billionaire.

On July 29, Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index listed Kress with a net worth exceeding $1 billion thanks largely to her equity holdings in the chipmaker. According to Bloomberg data, Kress owns or has options for more than 5.4 million Nvidia shares, worth roughly $1 billion at current prices.

Who says you can’t become a billionaire through a job?

Meta Just Paid $250M To Lure This 24-year-old AI Whiz Kid

Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) has reportedly invested a staggering $250 million to secure the talents of 24-year-old AI prodigy, Matt Deitke.

What Happened: Deitke, a former doctoral student at the University of Washington, initially turned down Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s offer of around $125 million over four years.

However, following a meeting with Zuckerberg, Deitke accepted a revised offer of approximately $250 million, with the potential to earn $100 million in the first year alone.

So, the question is:

Do you think the current investment in AI is just hype, and are we heading toward a bubble like the one in the early 2000s?
