The plot is based on the novel by Edward Ashton about a clone named Mickey, who works in an interplanetary expedition as a highly replaceable employee. He is constantly sent on the most dangerous tasks, since death is not so significant for him — most of the memories are stored in a new body. After one of the missions, the hero discovers that his identical replacement has already taken over the post.
