This crackdown on ChatGPT acting as a mock lawyer is a bit of a pain in the hole. The democratization of legal tools and the ability to simplify complex legal terminology, and its reverse, creating legal arguments from simple inputs, is something I saw as good coming from AI for everyone. There will be ways around this, for example, using different large language models than OpenAI, but they won't be quite as accessible for a while. You need a GPU to run them. Giving the average person the tools to challenge the system in a cost-effective manner was something unexpected to come from this technology. You won't ever see a disclaimer or refusal when asking it to generate code that won't work or damage your computer. (Please talk to a qualified software engineer, etc.). Society can't accelerate to a better place with technology when you have one plane embracing change or even being forced to accept it (writers and artists, coders) while another has a protective wall around it (lawyers). Something will have to give.

A moat is a protective / defensive layer around a company, that differentiates it from competitors. What happens when smart employees laid off from software companies have too much time on their hands and tools like this? They can start competitors to their employers with much less costs. This *could* be the end for big tech https://simonwillison.net/2023/May/4/no-moat/

DCU interviewing everyone who sits on the board of their "Future Journalism Insitute" (the ones that belittled you for having reservations about the vaccine etc. And collecting their sob stories. And of course , the journal.. who ate heavily connected wont let you comment. DCU is the centre for Orwellian Journalism research in this country.. never forget. https://www.thejournal.ie/women-in-journalism-online-hostility-dcu-research-6068555-May2023/

The entire Irish Media Narrative is ran out of DCU by a clique of professors from Ireland and all over Europe.   How much of a coincidence are the recent posts by Fujo (DCU Future Journalism institute). These are the same people that get paid to monitor you

International Protection Integration Fund 2022 Successful Applicants: Two groups, namely Failte Isteach and Clare Immigrant Support groups, received funding of 50k and 20k, respectively, from the Department of Children. Both groups visited Clare today. Interestingly, the group that received 50k was posing as a local organization, despite being located 50 minutes away by car and failing to disclose their funding amount. Musk is a (bit of a) hero... reading between the lines. It's now prohibitively expensive for FUJO to analyze your tweets. Recently, Twitter increased the cost of their cheapest enterprise API package to $42,000 per month, and even with this price, there are significant limitations. It only allows analysis of 5,000 Twitter users and a mere 0.3% of all Twitter data. This is the reason for the saltiness in the article. https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2023/05/16/online-platforms-failure-to-share-data-makes-it-harder-to-tackle-disinformation/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Report by the Council of the European Union on the use of ChatGPT in the public sector.
Wow. Twitter completely pulled the rug on Fujo + Edmo Ireland who monitor Irish Online content with help from the NLP (Natural Language Processing) Team at the University of Sheffield. The image is from a recent presentation on countering disinformation by Dr Eileen Culloty of DCU/Fujo/Edmo.

The BEAM software project was mentioned in the presentation by ISD to the National Counter Disinformation Working Group... quote "In 2021 Beam was the joint-winner of the US-Paris Tech Challenge for innovative approaches

Interesting document regarding cork being a "city of sanctuary" ... well worth a read even if it's a few years old.

Would be interesting to do a full deep analysis of mainstream medias coverage of the Tusla scandal versus the "Tubridy Scandal". Number of ariticies and journalists reporting on both.

Exhibit a. thejournal.ie. 1 hour after a article on state child abuse scandal was posted (no comments allowed) the RTE astroturfing began. There have been 10 articless (and counting) on the journal regarding the "tubridy scandal".. and zero follow up on Tusla. RTE & The Journal both sit on the advisory board of Fujo.
