Listen to Lidy Nacpil’s explanation of what is “Climate debt”

_________________
1. Thé concept of climate debt is grounded in the fact that not everyone has contributed equally to the climate crisis.
2. It also acknowledges that everyone has an equal right to Mother Earth and the space it provides for everyone to thrive

So that if there are people who have exceeded their fair share in terms of the contributions they have made to greenhouse gas emissions then this people are in debt: Climate debt because they have occupied far more than they have a right to.

🌱🇵🇸 Amazing new report from our comrades at Energy Embargo for Palestine and Shado Magazine.

🩸 It paints a stark picture of BP's acute role in fueling the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and more broadly, the nexus between imperialism, settler colonialism, and ecological breakdown.
