Hi everyone, unfortunately, we're writing you with some sad news.
After a consultation with the team, we've decided to end this season today. It means we won't have a screening anymore, also not tomorrow.
This wasn't easy, but it did become inevitable and has several reasons.
We love doing our DIY open-air cinema every summer, and it's always a huge reward and such a pleasure to see so many show up every Wednesday eve!
Each season, we've been able to improve the setup, offer local filmmakers a platform to show and elaborate on their work and connect with a huge community of film lovers.
If we've managed to forward social disourse with the topics we've highlighted or inspired a few of you too to keep Berlin beautiful, accessible and affordable, then the pleasure and honor has been all ours!
But... organising FeldKino hasn't been easy this year. There is a lot of preparation for every screening and we want to do things right. But a tiny budget (we're not financed by anyone), a shrinking team (some have moved away from NK, most of us work full time or more) and little time to prepare have made things pretty hard to organise FeldKino properly every week.
In the end, a handful of people were carrying most of the load for a prolonged time, and it simply became unfair to ask that much from a group of friends who do this out of love and in their free time.
We hope you enjoyed the season so far and can understand our decision to take a well deserved break and come back stronger next year.
And thank you all for joining us this season and showing your support in big numbers every week. And thank you for making FeldKino possible with your donations!
We'd also like to thank all the filmmakers who have contributed with their beautiful films and some unforgettable interviews 🙂
And last but not least, a big bow to the FeldKino team for being such heroes and saving the day week in week out! Karo, Ulri, Marek, Sonja, Carla, Fran and all volunteers who chipped in: You are amazing people!!🙏❤️

Hey everyone, it's Öz from FeldKino here, hope you're all well and enjoying the summer!
It's time for a loooong overdue update on FeldKino, which I will keep short ;)
After 7 superfun and beautiful, but also quite intense summers, FeldKino is taking a break.
It's time to let the grass in our lovely little corner grow, and let the Wednesdays be Wednesdays again...for a while. We will regroup and call for new volunteers in March.
Next year, we will be back with more local, topical and socially relevant films. More collabs and a slightly bigger focus on the history of Berlin!
In short: tell everyone you know FK ain't happenin' this season (and drag their butts over to our big screen between the trees the next)
