How to Obtain/Renew a Medical Insurance

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends!

According to the Federal Law of the Russian Federation No. 115-ФЗ of July 25, 2002 (as amended on July 31, 2025, with changes and additions coming into force on September 1, 2026), foreign citizens staying in Russia are required to obtain and renew medical insurance.

The International Students Office (E745, Mon-Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, break from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) can answer all your questions regarding the terms and conditions for obtaining and renewing a medical insurance.

🤓 Recommendations
You will greatly assist the Office staff if you bring with you a copy of your passport's main page and your valid visa/migration card.

✨ Be sure to check the validity period of your policy! It is indicated in the document.

✨ If the expiry date is within two weeks, it's the perfect time to visit the Office E745 and renew your insurance.

Compliance with the law is the key to successful studies! Be responsible!

How to Obtain a Referral, Academic Leave Certificate, and Document Confirming Student Status

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends!

During your studies, you may require a document confirming your student status, a certificate of return from academic leave, and/or a referral for studies from the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Regarding obtaining the necessary documents, you can always contact the International Student Office in person (office E745, Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 18:00, break from 13:00 to 14:00).

🤓 Recommendations
You will greatly assist the Office staff if you bring a prepared copy of the first page of your passport and a copy of your valid visa/migration card.

Be prepared to answer additional questions from specialists. For example, if you were on academic leave, please provide its dates.

Compliance with legislation is the key to successful studies! Be responsible!

Counter-Terrorism Exercises

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends,

we want to give you a heads-up so that tomorrow doesn't catch you off guard!

Tomorrow, February 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Building D, we will be practicing the emergency procedures for staff and students in the event of a terrorist threat.

🤓 In this regard, we recommend following these instructions:

1. If you hear an alarm over the public address system, please remain calm, do not panic, and quickly and clearly follow the instructions of your site supervisors, administrative personnel, and security staff;
2. If you hear simulated gunfire, please switch your phones to silent mode and avoid any contact with potential hostiles. If necessary, barricade yourself in classrooms and offices and stay hidden until the drill is over.

🌿 For the purpose of this exercises, low-power flash-bang devices and pyrotechnics that are safe for those nearby may be used.

Take care of yourselves and be mindful tomorrow in Building D. Yes, exercises aren't the most pleasant thing, but it's really important for your own safety!

The DVFU Student Council of Elders Begins Its Work

❤️ Dear students, dear friends!

We are excited to share important and useful information about the work of the Council of Elders!

This is a new permanently functioning body of student self-government, created to make studying at the university more comfortable, effective, and interesting. It unites the heads (elders) of all study groups and schools/institutes to convey the voice of DVFU students to the administration.

In its work, the Council relies on the Regulations on Student Self-Government and the Regulations on the Head of a Study Group, and follows these key goals:

〰️ Academic Support. Working to make the educational process better and ensure students have all the conditions for professional growth.

〰️ Coordination. The Council of Elders is the main link between the heads of all schools and institutes. Its work is aimed at effective experience exchange and solving both common problems and local tasks.

〰️ Dialogue with the Administration. It takes on the function of representing student interests to the DVFU leadership on issues related to academic activities and youth policy. Every opinion will be heard and must be considered.

🌿 ANY DVFU STUDENT CAN JOIN this group, even if you are not a group leader.🌿

😭 What if I'm not a group leader but want to help?

To be part of the Council of Elders team, you don't necessarily need the status of a "Council member." We value any help and initiative. The most important thing is your desire!

Specifically for this purpose, the Council has Working Groups — temporary or permanent teams that handle specific tasks: from organizing events to developing student support measures.

✨ What will you gain by becoming part of the Council team?

— Real experience in public and managerial activities;
— The opportunity to resolve issues important to you and your peers;
— Participation in organizing large-scale events (e.g., the "School of Elders");
— New acquaintances with active students from across the university;
— Support from the administration for your initiatives.

🌷 Dear women, happy March 8th!

For many years now, this day has been associated with spring, flowers, and compliments. But behind the familiar festive atmosphere lies an interesting story that not everyone remembers.

🤓 Fun fact:

Not all people know that March 8th was originally a day of struggle for equal rights.

🍀 In 1857, female textile workers in New York City staged a protest, demanding a shorter working day and normal working conditions. The holiday officially gained the status of "International Women's Day" in 1975 by a decision of the UN.

In Russia, this holiday took on a special meaning

For us, March 8th is not just a date on the calendar, but one of the main family celebrations.

🤓 Fun fact:

In our country, this day became a public holiday back in 1965, and since then, the tradition of giving women a real spring in the middle of harsh March has become stronger here than anywhere else.

💐 In the USSR, the holiday gradually lost its political connotation and turned into the very "Women's Day" that we love today — with tulips, warm words, and care.

✨ Interestingly, the tradition of giving tulips also appeared for a reason. At the beginning of the 20th century, this flower was considered a symbol of women's independence and dignity.

Thank you for inspiring us, for caring, and for making the world around us brighter!

Вы долго ждали, мы долго готовились и теперь раскрываем все карты. Встречайте новую рубрику «Фильмы недели»! Начинаем с фильмов, снятых в советское время.

🤓 Интересный факт:
В 1950–1970-х годах страна переживала период научно-технической революции и прогресса. В этот период в СССР происходили изменения в разных сферах: экономике, политике, культуре и повседневной жизни. Эти годы связаны с периодом «оттепели» — процессом относительной демократизации общественной жизни в СССР под руководством Никиты Хрущёва.

Для того, чтобы вы могли погрузиться в историю советского времени, мы подготовили для вас подборку интереснейших фильмов этого периода:

1.  «Солдат Иван Бровкин» — советский художественный полнометражный цветной фильм, снятый режиссёром Иваном Лукинским на киностудии имени М. Горького в 1955 году. Непутёвый деревенский парень Иван Бровкин никак не вписывается в колхозную жизнь. То он ломает крышу сарая во дворе перед домом главы колхоза, то по его вине свиньи портят огород. Определённый председателем колхоза на попечение и перевоспитание к заведующему гаражом Захару Силычу, он даже умудрился утопить новую колхозную автомашину ГАЗ-51.
И вот сразу после того, как Иван утопил автомобиль, ему и ещё трём колхозным парням приходит повестка с призывом в армию.

2.  «Карнавальная ночь» — советский комедийный музыкальный фильм 1956 года режиссёра Эльдара Рязанова. Работники Дома культуры готовятся к ежегодному мероприятию — костюмированному новогоднему балу. Развлекательная программа включает в себя сольные, танцевальные и цирковые номера, а также выступления джазового оркестра, фокусника и клоунов.

3.  «Гусарская баллада» — советская кинокомедия, снятая на киностудии «Мосфильм» в 1962 году Эльдаром Рязановым по пьесе Александра Гладкова «Давным-давно» (1940). Действие картины начинается в 1812 году; в основе сюжета — история семнадцатилетней Шуры Азаровой, которая, переодевшись в мундир гусарского корнета, отправляется защищать родину

4.  «Где это видано, где это слыхано» — советский короткометражный телевизионный цветной фильм режиссёра Валентина Горлова, снятый на киностудии «Ленфильм» в 1973 году по мотивам «Денискиных рассказов» Виктора Драгунского («Где это видано, где это слыхано» и «Смерть шпиона Гадюкина»).
