How to Obtain/Renew a Medical Insurance

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends!

According to the Federal Law of the Russian Federation No. 115-ФЗ of July 25, 2002 (as amended on July 31, 2025, with changes and additions coming into force on September 1, 2026), foreign citizens staying in Russia are required to obtain and renew medical insurance.

The International Students Office (E745, Mon-Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, break from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) can answer all your questions regarding the terms and conditions for obtaining and renewing a medical insurance.

🤓 Recommendations
You will greatly assist the Office staff if you bring with you a copy of your passport's main page and your valid visa/migration card.

✨ Be sure to check the validity period of your policy! It is indicated in the document.

✨ If the expiry date is within two weeks, it's the perfect time to visit the Office E745 and renew your insurance.

Compliance with the law is the key to successful studies! Be responsible!

How to Obtain a Referral, Academic Leave Certificate, and Document Confirming Student Status

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends!

During your studies, you may require a document confirming your student status, a certificate of return from academic leave, and/or a referral for studies from the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Regarding obtaining the necessary documents, you can always contact the International Student Office in person (office E745, Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 18:00, break from 13:00 to 14:00).

🤓 Recommendations
You will greatly assist the Office staff if you bring a prepared copy of the first page of your passport and a copy of your valid visa/migration card.

Be prepared to answer additional questions from specialists. For example, if you were on academic leave, please provide its dates.

Compliance with legislation is the key to successful studies! Be responsible!

Counter-Terrorism Exercises

❤️ Dear students, beloved friends,

we want to give you a heads-up so that tomorrow doesn't catch you off guard!

Tomorrow, February 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Building D, we will be practicing the emergency procedures for staff and students in the event of a terrorist threat.

🤓 In this regard, we recommend following these instructions:

1. If you hear an alarm over the public address system, please remain calm, do not panic, and quickly and clearly follow the instructions of your site supervisors, administrative personnel, and security staff;
2. If you hear simulated gunfire, please switch your phones to silent mode and avoid any contact with potential hostiles. If necessary, barricade yourself in classrooms and offices and stay hidden until the drill is over.

🌿 For the purpose of this exercises, low-power flash-bang devices and pyrotechnics that are safe for those nearby may be used.

Take care of yourselves and be mindful tomorrow in Building D. Yes, exercises aren't the most pleasant thing, but it's really important for your own safety!

The DVFU Student Council of Elders Begins Its Work

❤️ Dear students, dear friends!

We are excited to share important and useful information about the work of the Council of Elders!

This is a new permanently functioning body of student self-government, created to make studying at the university more comfortable, effective, and interesting. It unites the heads (elders) of all study groups and schools/institutes to convey the voice of DVFU students to the administration.

In its work, the Council relies on the Regulations on Student Self-Government and the Regulations on the Head of a Study Group, and follows these key goals:

〰️ Academic Support. Working to make the educational process better and ensure students have all the conditions for professional growth.

〰️ Coordination. The Council of Elders is the main link between the heads of all schools and institutes. Its work is aimed at effective experience exchange and solving both common problems and local tasks.

〰️ Dialogue with the Administration. It takes on the function of representing student interests to the DVFU leadership on issues related to academic activities and youth policy. Every opinion will be heard and must be considered.

🌿 ANY DVFU STUDENT CAN JOIN this group, even if you are not a group leader.🌿

😭 What if I'm not a group leader but want to help?

To be part of the Council of Elders team, you don't necessarily need the status of a "Council member." We value any help and initiative. The most important thing is your desire!

Specifically for this purpose, the Council has Working Groups — temporary or permanent teams that handle specific tasks: from organizing events to developing student support measures.

✨ What will you gain by becoming part of the Council team?

— Real experience in public and managerial activities;
— The opportunity to resolve issues important to you and your peers;
— Participation in organizing large-scale events (e.g., the "School of Elders");
