2024: A Year of Connections!

Wow, what a year it has been! As I look back on 2024, I see it filled with incredible growth, joy, and meaningful connections. I started the year with a new job at an amazing company that felt like the perfect fit. I’ve had the chance to work on some exciting projects that not only challenged me but also reignited my passion for what I do.

Having this new job also gave me the precious gift of time—time to spend with my husband and close friends. Whether we’re sharing a cozy dinner, having deep conversations, or
simply enjoying each other’s company, these moments have become the highlights of my year. I've cherished every laugh, every story shared, and the warmth of having loved ones close.

Plus, I made a conscious effort to get out more and attend various events this year. Each gathering was a chance to meet incredible new people, and it felt fantastic to connect with a community of gearheads who share my interests. I love the energy of these events—there’s a sense of excitement in the air that makes every interaction special. From making new friends to sharing stories.

This year, I’ve been fortunate enough to dive into some fantastic experiences, such as:
* Rave at Gear'n'dance
* Exploring new bondages in the playroom
* Wandering around Darklands
* Enjoying GearCabin weekends with gearheads in both the Netherlands and Austria
* GearKarting with my friends in the UK
Organizing GearBlast:UK and helping out as a GearScout at GearBlast:EU
* Socializing in Berlin during Folsom Europe
* Arresting some naughty gearheads and even getting "arrested" during the 'SWAT session'
*Visiting various socials in the Netherlands
and much more!

But let’s be real—this year hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. There have been some really tough moments that took a toll on me mentally and emotionally. Life has a knack for throwing challenges our way, and it’s easy to feel bogged down, especially when it seems like everyone else is posting their best moments online. Honestly, it’s hard not to compare ourselves to others and feel like we’re somehow falling short. I’ve had my share of days where I felt overwhelmed and unsure.

One thing I’ve realized is that asking for help or sharing what’s on my mind is truly powerful. It’s okay to reach out and say, “I’m not okay” or “Can we talk?” I’ve learned that asking questions and being open to vulnerability can lead to newfound strength. It’s okay to face rejection or hear a “no” from time to time; it’s all part of the journey of discovering the right path for ourselves.

Through all the ups and downs, the GearHead community has been a shining light for me. It’s such a diverse and colorful group of people from all around the world, and being part of it has brought me so much joy. The connections I’ve made and the memories we’ve created together are something I truly treasure.

So here’s my wish for all of us: let’s keep fostering those connections and continuing to make beautiful memories together. Always believe in yourself and know that it’s perfectly okay to have tough days. Together, we can lift each other up and embrace the journey ahead!
