2.7.14 (and 2.8 beta 10) for Android (both free and premium) is on its way. New google auth mechanism, performance improvements, and widescreen devices support.
New "covers only" bookshelf mode in upcoming FBReader Premium 2.8 (already available for testing in beta 17: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fbreader)
Last significant change in upcoming major release 2.8: automatic file format detector. Files extension does not matter anymore.

FBReader Premium 2.8 beta 19 means feature freeze: only bug fixes to be added by final 2.8.

UI changes: new default style set, thumbnail view in bookshelf, new google auth dialog.

Most important internal change is format auto-detection. File extension does not matter anymore. (Ok, it DOES matter for *.txt and *.html files if other formats do not match.)
New beta build for iOS (20170715) is on its way to the store. More options, new library views: by authors, by series, etc., access to FBReader Book Network.

FBReader for Android 2.8.5 (free version) is available for Google Play beta testers. Full public roll-out expected this weekend, as well as the Premium release.

The update fixes rendering performance issues on high-end devices, e.g., Google Pixel.

FBReader 1.0.3 for iOS is coming this week. You can turn pages using volume keys (the option is switched off by default) and set up arbitrary tap zones for page turning.
