FBReader 3.1 beta 30 brings two fixes:
1) Reading aloud is stable again. We finished the major UI change. Following updates will bring new features, including manual text substitutions and text-to-speech for PDFs.
2) There was an issue with downloading files with names longer than 255 bytes. Fixed.
The beta is already downloadable from our site, the Google Play release is on its way. An update for the stable version, named 3.0.31, will be released tomorrow. The only change is the long file name fix.

Auto connection request for FBReader
Hi, I recently uploaded very first beta of FBReader 2.0 (https://fbreader.org/) to the beta channel. I want to request automatic connection for access to some files in $HOME. The app is written using Qt6 and we use standard locations for config, app data…
Finally, it's officially on the Snap Store. Still in beta quality. That means there are several known significant issues. E.g., bookmarks are still not functional. We are working to fix that and release a stable version in the next few weeks.
And yes, we will publish builds for Windows and Mac very shortly, as well as the AppImage for Linux.
