This was the 2nd awake brain surgery, The first one was at Dhaka Medical College.
This one is at united Hospital.


When the tumor involves the motor area of the brain and we can't be sure whether we are dissecting normal brain tissue or the tumor we need to do this awake brain surgery.

<10 awake brain surgeries have been performed till now in Bangladesh.
Doing this is extremely challenging, partly by us and more by the anesthesiolgists.
