The bar graph compares six Australian cities in terms of reservoir water levels in October 2009 and October 2010.

Overall, it is clear that the percentage of water rose in most of the cities – namely Darwin, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane, with the exception of Perth, which experienced a significant decline. Of particular note is Sydney, where the amount of water held in reservoirs remained unchanged.

In 2009, Darwin's and Brisbane's water supplies stood at 75%, which then increased to 80% and 100% in the next year, respectively, with Brisbane recording the highest level overall. Canberra's reservoirs recorded 50% in the first year, after which it grew by 23 percentage points to reach 73% in 2010. Meanwhile, this figure for Melbourne registered the lowest proportion of 35% in the first study year, which then rose to 45% in the following year.

Regarding Perth, it experienced a significant decline, with water storage falling from 51% to just 26% over the two-year period. Notably, the reservoir water levels in Sydney remained stable at 49% in both 2009 and 2010.
