First of all there were never any "gas chambers" where people were killed. The "concentration camps" were really internment camps.
In the most referenced one, Auschwitz, there was a swimming pool for inmates, they got to put on plays in a theatre and were given "camp money" (Lagergeld) which could be spent at the camp canteen for food & cigarettes. They were also given instruments for music performances, all organized by the inmates themselves...
I am not saying things were peachy in the camps, they were prisons, but many stories of survivers paint the prisons & guards as mostly kind and "not that bad".
The "no gas chambers" fact was proven by many so-called Holocaust-deniers or Revisionists, even some jewish researchers/historians gave interviews or wrote books as to how the Holocaust is one big fat lie.
The why? To paint the Jews as holy victims and the nazis as evil villains. To invent anti-semitism as a thought-terminating argument and to make Germany pay billions in "reparations" to the Jews (still being paid to this day btw).
This should also answer your question as to how so many people can be "in on it". Because they and their descendants are (still) being paid handsomely for keeping the lie going.
But we can't do the research for you, just do some digging yourself please; maybe watch some David Cole videos, read the Leuchter report etc...
