Not a theory, it's a movie set. Hollow structures with plaster and moulded stone.
The mud flooders won't show you shit like this...a lot of the "proofs" they show you are movie sets or model villages and drawings.

World wars, civil wars, riots, local flooding, fires, local history of any area...how the Romans built a city, buried it and built another city on top.
