fuck it, after what just happened i am done with windows, i have found a way to use davinci reliably on linux and i am switching to arch on my desktop computer right now

i am already familiar with everything unix related since i use macos on my macbook daily, i have just been a holdout because of specific software that only used to run on windows, but we reached the point where windows is not just a pain in the ass but it's straight up unsafe lol

i can still virtualize windows for the 1-2 things that require it like mattkc does, gonna ask him for help probz

idk how to explain this but in practice my ryzen computer feels way way snappier using arch when it comes to the day to day operations compared to when i was using windows 11 on the same machine, i thought the difference wouldn´t really be there on a powerful machine but holy fuck i can feel it

turning off the option to view who liked a post on a social media website while proclaiming to be succesfully removing every single bot account from it is like saying you have successfully cleaned your room and having a suspicious 5 meters tall silhouette clearly visible hiding under the carpet and that silhouette seems to be moving and pulsating like a living being and it’s screaming and asking you to put an end to its misery

been pretty happy with bluesky so far: they finally introduced uploading short videos not too long ago (something that i was really missing from twitter) and the exodus from twitter, at least in the tech communities, seems to be happening and going smooth

the fact that twitter has become an unmoderated cesspool full of conspiracy theories, spam and hate speech against women and various minorities probably helped speed up the process lol

bluesky is actually moderated and the mods do work pretty hard (end wokeness got banned within 30 seconds when they tried to post some hateful shit to test the waters) so it’s genuinely a pretty nice experience if you are tired of elon’s bullshit
