Swedish police raid student camp after 192 days of resistance against academic cooperation with Israel

In a severe escalation against the pro-Palestine student movement, Swedish police raided the student encampment at the University of Gothenburg, which had stood strong for 192 consecutive days despite ongoing pressure from authorities and the government. The raid followed a permit request by Zionist politician Axel Darvik, a member of the Swedish Liberal Party, aimed at suppressing the camp that had become a symbol of civil disobedience and student resistance across Europe and the world.
Despite the repression, the camp - made up of students and civil society activists - succeeded in pressuring the University of Gothenburg to take steps toward supporting Palestinian universities. However, the university's president, Malin Broberg, continues to reject calls to end collaboration with Israeli institutions.

Pro-Palestine activists gathered in Brooklyn last night to protest Itamar Ben-Gvir’s presence in New York city, they were met by a violent pro-Israel crowd who threw objects at the demonstrators. One man was caught on camera stealing a Palestine flag from a protester only to go up to the police and accuse the woman of attacking him and demanding her arrest. The crowd then proceeded to mob and follow another woman for a prolonged period of time chanting “death to Arabs” in Hebrew whilst continuously throwing more waste and insults at her.

Independent journalist and pro-Palestinian activist Shahin Hazamy was released after several days in police custody. He has filed a complaint against those who falsely accuse him of "apologizing for terrorism."
At dawn on Tuesday, April the 22nd 2025, a dozen of hooded police officers burst into his home in the Paris suburbs.
Without warning, they forced open the door, shouted, and handcuffed Hazamy in full view of his partner and their two young children. A brutal search ensued, amid a deafening institutional silence.
No clear motive was given during his arrest. Today, he is responding by taking legal action.
This case has rekindled the debate on press freedom and the repression of pro-Palestinian voices in France.

At least one Palestinian was killed and others were injured after the bombing of a home in the Shatea refugee camp west of Gaza.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s Minister of National Security was confronted on the streets of NYC whilst under police escort, a pro-Palestine protester can be heard calling Gvir a ‘genocider’ and a ‘nazi’ for his ongoing role in war crimes committed against the Palestinian people. On his visit in New York Ben-Gvir attended an event at an orthodox synagogue in Brooklyn calling for the destruction of Al-Aqsa mosque, his visit emboldened the extremist pro-Israel community who were captured on video assaulting an anti-genocide Jew and burning items displaying the Palestinian flag.
