This is absolutely bonkers....

Why bother worrying about how much money you make if you live in Germany? The country is going to go ahead and even these out for you...

For years, we’ve been working behind the scenes on one of our most ambitious projects yet. After searching across Costa Rica, we finally found the perfect location to bring a freedom-oriented, self-sufficient community to one of Latin America’s most sought-after destinations.

In today’s episode, Mikkel is joined by his friend and business partner Patrick Hiebert to officially unveil our newest freedom-oriented community in Costa Rica.

They discuss why we chose this location, the philosophy behind the project, and why more freedom-minded families are realizing that a true Plan-B is about more than a passport or property…

…It’s about community.

Enjoy!

It’s throwback Thursday!

What’s it like to mingle with warlords and cartel leaders?

Kolja describes his years doing exactly that.

PS Kolja will return to the podcast in a few weeks; this episode is a great primer!

Horrifying news out of Colombia...I've been in Europe so wasn't aware of this right away.

I have friends and staff in Panama Venezeuala that said they could even feel the quake from there. Scary powerful.

A report from a good friend of Mikkel's and one of our partners on the ground in Medellin (this was from earlier this morning so some of his numbers may be trailing)

"It was a major quake, a 7.4. We hadn't had an earthquake like that in decades. Fortunately, there have been no damages, no lives lost reported in Medellin. That's the most important thing. It speaks volumes of what we do here in terms of construction, in terms of infrastructure. There is, however, the situation in many other cities in Colombia. There's at least 70 people deemed disappeared. And that, unfortunately, I fear, is going to translate into people who have passed away and also buildings that have fallen in cities specifically close to the epicentre, Manizales, Pereira and Cali. Medellin, however, is A-okay."

NEW EPISODE - A super important one for anyone looking at residency in Paraguay, Panama or Costa Rica

Residency programs rarely become easier, cheaper, or less restrictive over time. Across Latin America, we are already seeing new investment thresholds, tighter documentation requirements, processing delays, and limits on who can qualify.

In today’s episode, Mikkel and Marc break down the latest residency developments in Panama, Paraguay, and Costa Rica, and explain why those considering a Plan-B need to take action while today’s options are still available.

Hey everyone! Some info on El Tigre's announcement of his intent to eliminate the wealth tax in Colombia:

"Based on my conversations our trusted partners on the ground in Colombia, we're optimistic about the proposed wealth tax repeal than we would be about a typical campaign promise. It still has to pass Congress, but the political support appears to be there, and the new government is entering that critical first-100-day ‘legislative honeymoon’ when major reforms have historically faced less resistance. In fact, that same window helped make the wealth tax permanent in 2022. If repealing it is prioritized early and the government can address the resulting revenue gap, there’s a credible path to getting this done quickly enough for taxpayers to potentially see relief as early as 2027." - Mikkel

Report from Mikkel's Europe trip:

"So I just met with an immigration specialist here in Latvia.

He was telling me there’s no corporate tax here in Latvia, and I thought, wow, that’s amazing. Very good option.

Then he tells me the income tax is only 25%, and for Europe, that’s actually quite low.

But then I find out there’s also a 25% social tax paid by the employer.

So if you pay someone €2,000 a month, you’re paying another €500 on top of that to the government.

And then I vomited in my mouth."

Mikkel’s Tales from a tour in Lithuania: A Story in 3 Parts

Lithuania Tour Guide:
Mr. Putin is very aggressive, he wants to conquer all of Europe.

Mikkel: 🫤

Lithuania Tour Guide: we are an independent country and we should be able to do whatever we want like join NATO and hold nuclear weapons if we want. Russia shouldn't be able to stop us.

Mikkel: okay, just be prepared to accept the consequences...

I didn't talk to her much the rest of the tour... - Mikkel
