This is not to denigrate our virtues however, if our virtues are vices in disguise then let that be our motivation for better things. If you go to the gym because you are insecure about your build, does it make your muscle less impressive; no. If you are afraid of death and cowed by your mortality, does it make your hope in God and the life to come less faithful; no. If you feel pissant and unimpressive, does it make your ambition and professional achievements less influential; no.

Let your vices become virtues and your virtues abound, if motivated by nothing but your own insecurity.
