Patriotism is seen in a very negative light nowadays. That is exclusive/racists/etc. however that same love for the country you and your family were born in is was keeps that country thriving. Deriving from that culture to aid in those who will never accept it is a path that leads to a new type of patriotism for a country you don't want to live in.
