Kindness is something sadly lacking in much of this world. There are many reasons for why this is and that's not really why I felt the need to share this post. Kindness is something that will legitimately make you feel so much better for doing it. Indeed one of the verses I've mentioned above says this outright: "The merciful man does good for his own soul". Other translations use 'kind' instead of merciful but ultimately, it is the same message: Doing good helps your spirit.

This may sound like nonsense but it is very true. Now to clarify, "kindness" doesn't necessarily mean going out and feeding/clothing the homeless, donating to charity or what have you. Kindness can be something as simple as just helping out an older relative or neighbour with something they're struggling with. Maybe walking someone's dog when they're too sick to, watching a friend's child for the night so they can spend time with their other half et cetera. As the video demonstrates, it could even be something as simple as giving a lonely person an ear.

Within the context of my own faith, I read something recently about how God often gives people purpose by helping them be "moved through compassion", and I think that's a big part of it. Compassion is what begets kindness after all. It isn't forced, it isn't something you do out of obligation, it's something that comes naturally because of a rush of compassion.
