O HOLY SPIRIT,
BELOVED OF MY SOUL,
I ADORE YOU.
ENLIGHTEN ME, GUIDE ME,
STRENGTHEN ME, CONSOLE ME.
TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DO;
GIVE ME YOUR ORDERS.
I PROMISE TO SUBMIT MYSELF TO ALL THAT
YOU DESIRE OF ME
AND TO ACCEPT ALL THAT YOU PERMIT TO
HAPPEN TO ME.
LET ME ONLY KNOW YOUR WILL.
CARDINAL MERCIER (1851 - 1926 )

And he said with confidence, "I possess these from heaven, but, because of the laws of God, I now despise them, for I hope to receive them again from him.β So then, the king and those who were with him, wondered at the soul of this youth, because he considered the torments as if they were nothing.
