"The most terrible aspect of sin is to live in sin, and the worst aspect of falling into sin is not to arise from sin." - St. John Chrysostom

I still remember returning to my spiritual father to confess all I had said about Pope Francis, the way I had slandered and spoke ill of our holy father. He asked me "Pinesap, do you still want to be Catholic", and I said "With all my heart", and spoke the words of absolution. There was no greater feeling than being forgiven for speaking so horribly about Papa, and the moment the absolution was spoken, the sun crested over the mountains one last time, and I knew God was there. I vowed to be always faithful to Peter from that day forward.

The term "Catholic guilt" is so stupid to anyone who lives in a Catholic environment.

Yes, I killed the only being in the entire history of existence that did not deserve being killed for any reason whatsoever.

You're damn right I'm gonna remember that.
Pray for papa

All the gods they had as pagans were far above them and struck fear into their hearts. The God of Israel, too, was an awesome God, whose very name many would not pronounce. How could one imitate a God so far above one’s own nature, perfect and holy in everything He did?
And then came Jesus β€” Man and God. He was Someone they could relate to, Someone they could follow, Someone who experienced their misery and triumphed, Someone who overcame the darkness and showed them the Great Light.

The devil appeared to three monks and asked them what would they do if he gave them the power to change any one thing from the past.

The first, a man of apostolic fervor, said:
"I would prevent Adam and Eve from falling to sin, thus keeping Mankind united with God."

The second, a man full of mercy, said:
"I would prevent you from rebelling against God, so you and your peers could avoid eternal damnation."

The third was a simple man, and instead he went on his knees and prayed, while making the Sign of the Cross:
"Lord, protect me from the temptation of wondering what could have been."

The devil let out a screech full of agony and disappeared.

The other two asked their brother why he had reacted in such a way.

He said:

"First, one should never be open to dialogue with the enemy.

Second, nobody in this world has the power to change the past.

And third, the goal of the adversary was not to prove our virtue, but to entrap us in the past. By doing so, we would forget about the present, which is the only time we have to make amends with God and to conform with His will.

Of all demons, the most annoying to Man is the one which keeps asking us about what could have been.

The past is entrusted to God's mercy, and the future to His providence. The present is the only thing we have, so let us live today."

FEBRUARY 25: THE SALESIAN MARTYRS OF CHINA
Saint Luigi Versiglia and Saint Callisto Caravario
Bishop, Priest, Martyrs
Died: 1930
---
They were Italian members of the Salesians of Don Bosco. Luigi was a bishop and Callisto was a priest. The two were sent to preach the Gospel in China. One day, the two were travelling together on a ship. Bolshevik pirates suddenly embarked on their ship. The pirates planned to abduct and enslave the girls on their ship. They fought to prevent them. The pirates recognized that they were missionaries and they were both shot.
