Pride is a potent poison: a single drop is enough to spoil an entire life filled with goodness. A person may have performed a mountain of good deeds, but if we did them only to exalt ourselves, then we cannot call ourselves virtuous.

Should’ve made the point that this is only possible by having one person writing it because it’s impossible for so many different people to connect the same dots, which almost necessarily proves the Holy Spirit’s existence, and there is only one being who could be omniscient enough to be able to be so thorough which is God the father, and only one man who could have had his life lived in such a way that what is written after him connects to the Old Testament so much and he would have to be consubstantial with the omniscient father, that is Christ.

If you pay attention to yourself, you will find that in the course of the day you are assailed by many temptations. Do you know to what you are most often tempted? If anger rises within you, say: “Blessed are the meek,” or else: “For the anger of man worketh not the justice of God” (James 1:20). If you are inclined to quarrel or fight, say to yourself: “Blessed are the peace-makers”; or if you are in danger of telling lies, remind yourself of the proverb: “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord” (Prov. 12:22).
