Carmelite nun who entered the convent at 15 and died age 24 in 1897.
The "Little Flower" 🌹
Doctor of the Church
Since her death, millions have been inspired by her ‘little way’ of loving God and neighbor. Many miracles have been attributed to her intercession. She had predicted during her earthly life that “My Heaven will be spent doing good on Earth.”
St Thérèse wrote once, 'You know well enough that Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them."

1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

SAINT FRANCIS AND THE SULTAN

In 1219, St. Francis of Assisi met the Muslim Sultan of Egypt, al-Malik al-Kāmil. The meeting took place when the Fifth Crusade was happening. It is said that St. Francis spent more than three-weeks of religious dialogue with the sultan, after which he was escorted safely to the Christian camp. The two individuals gained mutual respect for each other. It also showed that peace and understanding can exist between different faiths.
