Forwarded from St Alphonsus Liguori
Through the holy sacrament of baptism the Christianβs tongue has been consecrated to God. On the tongue of all who are baptized is placed blessed salt that their tongues may be made sacred and may be accustomed to bless God.
How wicked that the blasphemer afterwards makes his tongue a sword to pierce the heart of God. No sin contains in itself so much malice as the sin of blasphemy. Moreover blasphemies against the saints or against holy things such as the sacraments are of the same species as blasphemies against God for it is God Who is the foundation of their sanctity.
Have ready on your tongue good words rather than impatient blasphemies. Through the holy sacrament of baptism your tongue has been consecrated to God.
From The Holy Rosary through the Writings of Saint Alphonsus de Liguori (pp. 136-137). Kindle Edition. (See also Revelation 13:6)

Mother Teresa used her 1979 Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech to speak out against legalised abortion. βTo me the nations who have legalized abortion, they are the poorest nations. They are afraid of the little one, they are afraid of the unborn childβ
