I can’t help but notice that people who sleep around and prudes are two flip sides of the same coin; neither of them take seriously the sexual act.

Sexual promiscuous people think sex has no value and engage with it as if it were just a mere dopamine hit to be abused.

Prudes still think it’s essential immoral even within marriage a mere impulse of the flesh that ought be overcome.

The golden mean is that is has value. Don’t let our promiscuous society trick you into being reactionary and miss the loving and self giving art of sex while maintaining the narrative it’s meaningless.

Fighting Lust Before It Grows
(A message from a brother in the battle)

I want to share something deeply personal—because I know I’m not the only one.

Lust has been a real struggle in my life. At first, it was small. I thought I could handle it. I let it crawl into my heart. I stayed silent. I didn’t ask for help. I was ashamed—and honestly, too prideful to admit it. Now, I see how much ground it’s tried to take in my life.

But by the grace of God, I haven’t given up. And neither should you.

We are in a real spiritual battle. The enemy wants to isolate us, shame us, and keep us from the mercy of Christ. But Christ came precisely for sinners—and He gave us the sacraments, especially Confession, to be healed and restored.

Here are a few things I’ve learned that have helped me fight:
1. Confession is powerful. Don’t wait. Don’t hide. Run to the Lord in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He already knows, and He waits with open arms. His mercy is greater than your sin.
2. Reach out early. Temptation grows in silence. Message someone. Talk to a brother. Don’t let the sin fester in the dark.
3. Guard your senses. What you watch, listen to, and scroll through forms your desires. Be intentional—practice custody of the eyes. Uninstall what you need to. Flee occasions of sin.
4. Fill your soul. Go to Mass, even daily if you can. Pray the Rosary—Our Lady is a fierce protector of purity. Read Scripture. Feed your soul with the things of Heaven.
5. Fast and offer sacrifices. Denying your body teaches your soul to lead. Even small acts—cold showers, skipping snacks, waking up earlier to pray—train the will and unite us to the Cross.
6. Stay hopeful. If you fall, get up. Again and again. Don’t listen to the lie that you’ve “failed too many times.” God’s grace is new every morning. The saints didn’t become saints because they never fell—but because they never stopped turning back to God.

And finally—if you’re fighting lust, or anything else, please don’t be afraid to reach out to this group. No one here is going to judge you. Honestly, your account is private—we don’t even know who you are. You’re not alone. We’re all trying to follow Christ, and we need each other.

This fight is real—but so is God’s mercy. Speak up before it grows. Stand with your brothers. Ask Our Lady to cover you. Go to Confession. Keep getting up.

I’m still in the fight—but I belong to Christ. And I refuse to give up.

Chant praise to the Lord, Who rides on the heights of the heavens to the East.

Grant, we beseech You, almighty and merciful God, that what we have received in visible mysteries we obtain by an invisible effect.

JUNE 4: A PRIEST HACKED ON THE HEAD
Saint Pietro of Verona
Priest and Martyr
Died: 1252
---
He was an Italian Dominican priest and martyr. He was known for being a very effective preacher. He condemned Albigensianism and converted many of its followers back to Catholicism. The Albigensians hired two men to murder him. He was hacked on the head. He dipped his finger on the pool of his own blood and wrote on the ground, "Credo in unum Deum" which means "I believe in one God."

SAINT TERESA OF AVILA SEES A PRIEST IN MORTAL SIN
.
"Once, while approaching to receive Communion, I saw with my soul's eyes more clearly than with my bodily eyes two devils whose appearance was abominable. It seems to me their horns were wrapped around the poor priests's throat, and in the host that was going to be given to me I saw my Lord with the majesty I mentioned placed in the priest's hands, which were clearly seen to be His offender's; and I understood that that soul was in mortal sin. What would it be my Lord, to see Your beauty in the midst of such abominable figures? They were as though frightened and terrified in Your presence, for it seems they would have very eagerly fled had You allowed them. This vision caused me such great disturbance I don't know how I was able to receive Communion, and I was left with a great fear, thinking that if the vision had been from God, His Majesty would not have permitted me to see the evil that was in that soul. The Lord Himself told me to pray for him and that He had permitted it so that I might understand the power of the words of consecration and how God does not fail to be present, however evil the priest who recites them, and that I might see His great goodness since He places Himself in those hands of His enemy, and all out of love for me and for everyone. I understood well how much more priests are obliged to be good than are others, how deplorable a thing it is to receive this most Blessed Sacrament unworthily, and how much the devil is lord over the soul in mortal sin. It did me a great deal of good and brought me deep understanding of what I owed God. May He be blessed forever and ever.
