Cigarette production in Russia has fallen sharply over the past two decades. From a peak of over 400 billion cigarettes in the mid-2000s, output dropped to 194 billion by 2024 — more than a 50% decline.
However, 2025 breaks the trend. Production rebounded to 209 billion cigarettes, the first notable increase in years and the highest level since 2022.
The data show that the structural decline in cigarette manufacturing has slowed and possibly stalled. While some smokers have switched to alternatives like vapes and e-cigarettes, traditional tobacco production is no longer falling.

In February 2026, Russia will increase the export duty on sunflower oil by 2.1%, bringing it to 9,495 rubles per ton, up from 9,298.6 rubles per ton in January.
At the same time, the export duty on sunflower meal will remain at zero for the second consecutive month, according to calculations released by the Ministry of Agriculture.

☕ Coffee Prices Slide on Brazil Crop Hopes
Coffee prices fell on global exchanges amid expectations of a strong harvest in Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer. Arabica futures in New York dropped to $3.0785 per pound, the lowest level in five months, according to Reuters.
