A democratic government is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. People participate in a democratic government in the following ways:
1. Voting in elections: People vote for the candidate of their choice for running the government.
2. Expressing their views through the media: People voice their opinion about the government in power and can question them.
3. Holding direct protests and strikes: People have the power to change the government and protest through strikes if the government does not function according to the general will of the people

(I) Control by the public
The public can control public corporation by criticizing the bad deeds of public corporations. The public can demonstrate against public corporations which do not live up to expectation. They can call for dismissal of non-performing public corporations officials.
(II) Media control
The media can control public corporation by criticizing the wrong deeds of the public corporation officials. The media can conduct their investigation about public corporation and publish the outcome of the investigation. The media serves as a watch dog on public corporation.
(III) Control by the office of the Ombudsman / Commission on Human Rights and
Administrative Justice (CHRA.J
The commission on human rights and administrative justice (CHRAJ can control public corporation by investigating into violation of rights of individuals in public corporation. They can investigate on sexual harassment and wrongful dismissal of workers of public corporations.
(IV)Financial control through Auditor.
General:
The public corporations are financed by the state as such they have to account for their stewardship. The financial situation of the corporation are audited by internal and external auditors. The auditor's report to the Auditor-General for recommendation each year.
(V)Legislative / Parliamentary control:
Public corporations are established by an act of parliament. Budget allocation to public corporations are to be approved by parliament. It is only parliament that can approve the budget of the public corporations.
The public accounts
committee (PAC) of parliament can call official of public corporation to render accounts of their stewardship.
