Also one scene that will forever stick with me so badly is when Bucky looked Sam dead in the eye saying “Because if he was wrong about you, then he was wrong about me.”

The problem was never the shield itself. Bucky didn’t care about it on an objective level.

He just cared about how Sam handled it. How he gave it away assuming he couldn’t ever take on the place as Captain America, which made Bucky self conscious in himself because if Sam thinks he’s not up for it but Steve did, then was he wrong about Bucky, too?
