My problem with cyrene and any future cyrene expy in other games wont be cyrene herself but the way hoyo handles her.

Hoyo reduced their own incredible character to just ships and yume.

I barely see anyone loving cyrene for her own or her own story. Wether they love her or hate her the ships is the main discourse.

I cannot even begin to say how much this is true

I’m going to put a comparison here on two characters that look exactly the same when it comes to appearance maybe even dynamic and story:
Cyrene and Aemeath.

One of the reasons Aemeath is such a fan favorite in wuwa is because how beautifully her story was created and handled. She isn’t a maiden in distress, and I think they really hit the nail on the head with her dynamic with us, the Rover, being as daughter and parent. Found family tropes always sell extremely well because of how emotional they are and it makes players want to connect with the beauty of that connection. I think they really knew what they were doing with her, because she literally almost has the exact same storyline as Cyrene: wants to save the world and her loved ones.

Cyrene could’ve also been like Aemeath… if they treated her like a decent female character instead of relationship bait with every single character in Amphoreus. Because tell me why I like Aemeath - a character that’s story is literally almost like Cyrene - than Cyrene herself.

It’s the dynamic presented to the players. You fuck that up and it’ll all go to shreds.

Man even dynamic aside, very clear favoritism and ruining the kit of the character. Tell me why I need E2 Cyrene to even make her usable . Tell me why they ruined her kit so bad which just dealt more damage

I’ll always mourn what Cyrene could’ve been. Her design is so gorgeous but then I look at her in a deeper level and I just can’t handle her anymore they did the same shit to Castorice I can’t even handle her either

At least Cas had SOME edge and SOMETHING of herself if that makes sense but Cyrene is so deep into the bait that it’s really hard to like her in my personal experience

Sighhh speaking of my baby Aemeath, I really can’t wait for her rerun I want her so bad

The first phase of her boss fight focuses on Khaenri’ahn ancient mechanics - so what we see with ruin guards and so on so forth.

The second phase of her boss fight focuses on the magic aspect of Khaenri’ah.

The veil and eye covering symbolizes her unwillingness to see outside of her box. Her box that believes restoring Khaenri’ah and destroying Celestia will bring any peace and order. Her veil is on the first phase and the eye mask along w the veil are in the second phase, tightly connected to her face showing this is what she’s chosen for her ideals
