I keep thinking of Akari with this song.

Akari Hima, born into a clan that holds such high regard to their techniques despite not even having many members anymore. So many family members chose to leave because of the pressure and the stress and danger, and yet somehow they expected a mere child to bear the heavy burden and responsibility of carrying an already broken family legacy?

It’s all practice and train and practice and train and then you’re let go to find your own way. But still, you feel incomplete. If you’re not exceeding in sparring or if you’re not maintaining and improving your skills then what are you, really? Is this all you were made for?

And so you let go of any joys and simplicities simply because you have more “important” matters to worry about. Are your feelings not important, then? Surely, enjoying life a bit wouldn’t hurt. But what would your caretaker think? Raising you to be “the best”, so you have to be the best.

And in the end. In the very end, you put everything on the line to help - but your efforts were small compared to that of others. And so you sacrificed so much… all for nothing.

Because even after excelling in everything. Even after being so powerful and falling from grace after that, you’re still looked down upon the one that raised you. “You did well, but…” you could’ve done better. Your caretaker didn’t need to continue the sentence to know what they were going to say.
