When Frauline Schneider tells Clifford that this is his view from the window, Clifford looks at the crowd. WE the crowd are his views. Everything major happens in that room throughout the whole musical, from the best moments to the absolute worst ones (ex when they have the whole “you’re pregnant?” Crashout scene with Sally) WE, THE WINDOW, THE VIEWERS saw everything. Even when the Nazi was discovered. Letting us know we saw, and we could’ve done something.
