another lifetime (ev3rest's vocals)
alixe.
In another lifetime, under different stars,
I'd find my way back to you, no matter how far.
Through time's labyrinth, where love remains our guiding light,
In another lifetime, you're all I'd ever need.

Last original project I've made from scratch was in ~May of 2023. Not sure how I feel about this. There's definitely still love, passion and interest for music on my end, but anytime I start a new project, it seems to go to shit. Back in high school I used to take breaks from my hobbies and distract myself from them by doing something else - be that snowboarding, reading, focusing more on my relationship or studies. Now, almost a year later, I find myself feeling stationary, as if I haven't progressed from where I was a year ago. This stagnation is incredibly debilitating, leading me to question my passion for music and, perhaps, my competence in it. First world problems I know, but I still feel like I had to express my feelings. I feel creatively stuck and have no way of getting out. Sorry if music has been stale lately. But at least you know why now. I hope to bring some more things this year.

WIP This cover on Trust in Me by Direct has been in work for 2 years, still not done
on another note,
listening back to this recording from 2018... I can definitely say that my singing gotten quite a bit better, at least I don't drown the vocals in everything else, trying to hide the imperfections. Still not singing too well, but at least there's some confidence gained 😂

but also, how the duck🦆 did that post get almost 12K views?!

I get told I “politicize everything” because I ask questions like, “Does this company support Israel or Russia?” But I didn’t make everyday choices political. The world did.

What I can control is where my money and support go. I’m not interested in funding oppression, propaganda, or invasion. I want to back people and businesses that align with what I believe is right: Free Palestine and Free Ukraine.

Do I love boycotting? No. It’s inconvenient and sometimes exhausting. But if my small inconvenience can keep me from contributing to harm, I’m okay with that.

So yes, I’m going to ask those questions. And I’m going to keep choosing accordingly.

Fuck israel. Fuck russia.

Someone commented about "not agreeing with actions of israel and russia" and i banned them. They reached out asking why and I feel like it's something that needs to be talked about.

Your silence reads like ignorance. If you’re informed, then why stay quiet?
Because from the outside, silence isn’t neutral. It communicates something, and most people will read it one of three ways:
1) You don’t know enough to take a stance (ignorance).
2) You know, but you don’t care enough to risk discomfort (indifference).
3) You know, but you benefit from staying “safe” and keeping your image clean (self-protection).

And look, I get it: people don’t want to argue online, don’t want to be “political”, don’t want to lose friends, don’t want to say the wrong thing. But that’s kind of the point - your comfort becomes the priority, while people are losing homes, families, limbs, entire futures.

If you truly are informed and you genuinely disagree with what’s being done, then the question is simple:

What does your disagreement cost you?
If it costs you nothing - no words, no action, no inconvenience - then it’s basically a private opinion. And private opinions don’t protect civilians, don’t pressure governments, don’t change culture, and don’t move resources where they’re needed.

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be an activist. But you can do something that matches the “I don’t agree” you’re saying:
- share a credible resource once in a while
- correct misinformation when it’s casual and normalized
- donate if you can
- boycott what you’re comfortable boycotting
- amplify voices actually affected

So yeah, if you’re informed, why stay quiet?

Because either you’re not actually informed, or you’re choosing the safety of silence over the discomfort of solidarity. And people will notice the difference.
