๐ป๐ฆ ๐บ๐ธ Pope's Popularity Surges Despite Trump's Attacks
One day after facing public criticism from President Trump, Pope Leo XIV continued his Africa tour with a historic visit to the Grand Mosque in Algiers.
The political friction appears to have little effect on the Pontiff's standing. A March 2026 NBC News poll shows Leo with a +34 net favorability rating among Americans, starkly contrasting with Trump's -12 rating.
Furthermore, a recent Gallup poll affirms the Pope's status as the most popular public figure in the world.

๐น๐ท Ankara's Military Expansion: Now Second Only to United States
Turkey has established the world's second-largest network of overseas military bases, now operating 133 installations globally.
While this expansion is significant, it remains a distant second to the United States' strategic posture of nearly 900 bases. Ankara's network now surpasses that of the United Kingdom and Russia.
This growing footprint is most pronounced in Africa and the Middle East, allowing Turkey to project power and challenge the influence of regional actors, including the key Gulf states.

๐ซ๐ท๐บ๐ธ An 86-year-old French woman who moved to the US last year after rekindling a 1960s romance is detained at the ICE prison in Louisiana.
The son of Marie-Therese, from the city of Nantes, says she was arrested in Alabama this April. "They handcuffed her hands and feet like she was a dangerous criminal."
DHS told that an "illegal alien from France" overstayed 90-day visa. Son claims that Marie-Thรฉrรจse was awaiting a green card.
She had moved to the US after marrying long-lost love - an American named Billy whom she met in the 1960s, when he was a soldier in the NATO base of Saint-Nazaire, and she a secretary.
Billy returned to the US in 1966. They lost touch, each got married. The two reconnected in 2010 and visited one another with their spouses.
By 2022, both were widowed and started a relationship. They married last year and she relocated to Alabama, filing for a green card.
The woman had not yet received the green card when Billy died suddenly in January, leaving her status unclear.
