I don't know any one in my circle i can ask this question and we can have nuanced discussion without meandering to oblivion. I can't believe i can have this kinda complex question to AI and i can get instant reply. Damn, what a time to be alive.

Typing Amharic on Linux? Here's My Fix! π»πͺπΉ
I love Linux and wanted to switch from Windows, but the Amharic character mapping on Windows 10 & 11 is way better! π€ That made me hesitate about the move.
After some digging, I found out you can create your own custom character mapping on Linux using IBus and the ibus-m17n library. π The mapping goes into a .mim file, and you can enable it through ibus-setup or IBus preferences.
So, I made my own Windows-like key mapping in a .mim file, and guess what? It worked perfectly! π Iβve shared everything in this repo here
https://github.com/zeal-nerd/am-geez with clear instructions for anyone to follow. Give it a try, and feel free to DM me with feedback or the distros you've tested it on! π

Software Design by Example
The best way to learn design in any field is to study examples, and the most approachable examples are ones that readers are already familiar with. These lessons therefore build small versions of tools that programmers use every day to show how experienced software designers think. Along the way, they introduce some fundamental ideas in computer science that many self-taught programmers havenβt encountered. We hope these lessons will help you design better software yourself, and that if you know how programming tools work, youβll be more likely to use them and better able to use them well.
