Personal Statement常見問題： 問：我啲活動完全唔關事，所以唔知寫咩好。 答：活動唔需要關你果科事，只需要關你性格事。例如你aim finance但活動係去家庭服務中心做義工，你可以寫你因為服務小朋友同老人家而變得十分細心，有利你讀啲要對數字嘅科目。 問：我返啲工同果科冇關，係咪skip咗佢唔寫好啲？ 答：寫part time唔係寫job duties為主，因為都會同人撞，unless你嘅工作係兒子/女兒。寫part time應該集中喺返工某日最深刻嘅經歷，例如有客打爛嘢你點處理等等，所以無關科系嘅工依然可以寫。…
Personal Statement可使用的canned expressions:
Something is within my capability/capacity. 呢樣嘢喺我能力範圍內。
To do something to the best of my ability. 做到最好。
I have an enormous capacity for hard work. 再重嘅workload我都食到。
My classmates accelerated to overtake me in grades. (用嚟講後悔高中冇好好讀書）我啲同學忽然發奮爬哂我頭。
I could not reconcile myself to not being able to study xxx. 我不能接受自己讀唔到某某科（所以而家讀緊hd/ad）。
I have learnt to face up to my responsibilities. 我學識為自己負責任。
I have to resign myself to not being directly admitted to university. 我要接受自己直升唔上大學嘅事實。
I never thought I would pull it off. （講成功經驗/比賽獲獎）我都不能相信自己竟然會成功。
I believe this is a step in the right direction. 我相信呢步係正確嘅方向。

As a group leader and participant in class discussions, I am currently making a contribution to my classes, fellow classmates and the college. Following my graduation, I will be able to uphold the principles of HKU's university motto, "to manifest virtue and to investigate things," by sharing my experiences with CC with students and teaching others.
Despite my poor English grades at the DSE, I have never given up. I'm currently studying independently for the IELTS exam. I think I can make up for my DSE grades and get the respect I deserve by getting good grades. I was chosen for the recommendation list based on my efforts and the outcomes I was able to produce. That is evidence that my efforts have been appreciated and acknowledged, just like when I first started college and received a scholarship from CC. I believe I can be a role model to others and positively influence others. This is why I am a suitable candidate for the Scheme.

I would like to be shortlisted for the Principal Recommendation Scheme because I think it will provide me with more opportunities to continue to serve others. This will enable me to give back something to a university that has honed me into a more global citizen. I strive for many accomplishments and look forward to making a contribution to the community of HKU.
