❗️Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has vowed to erase the grave of anti-colonial leader Ezz al-Din al-Qassam, whose burial site lies under Israeli control and whose legacy inspired the name of Hamas’s military wing.

Ben Gvir posted a video on X alongside Israeli security forces as they tore down a prayer tent built near the grave of the resistance figure.

Qassam, who was killed in 1935 during a firefight with the British, was a prominent leader who fought British rule and Zionist militias in Mandate Palestine before Israel’s establishment in 1948. His grave has become a symbolic target in Israel’s ongoing campaign against Palestinian historical memory.
