In Brazil, a wild animal rescued by Patram after a car accident in Vacaria stunned vets at the University of Caxias do Sul.

It looked like a mix between a dog and a fox. Genetic tests confirmed it was the world’s first known dog-fox hybrid, born from a domestic dog and a Pampas fox. Nicknamed Dogxim, it had 76 chromosomes—exactly between the dog’s 78 and the fox’s 74—and displayed a blend of traits: it barked, hunted live prey, and avoided dog food.
