The Anarchists are right in everything; in the negation of the existing order, and in the assertion that, without authority, there could not be worse violence than that of authority under existing conditions.
They are mistaken only in thinking that Anarchy can be instituted by a revolution. "To establish Anarchy." "Anarchy will be instituted." But it will be instituted only by there being more and more people who do not require protection from governmental power, and by there being more and more people who will be ashamed of applying this power.

"Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, theyβll say youβre crazy and youβre blasphemous, and theyβll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing)."

Who says you can't still learn things from social media? I was scrolling through my Facebook reels and randomly came across one of those "Weird History" clips reposted from TikTok talking about "The most fraudulent document in history" β The Donation Of Constantine. And holy shit did it send me down another rabbit hole.
TLDR; The Donation Of Constantine is a forged document from the 8th century that was used by the Church of Rome to claim that emperor Constantine The First exalted supreme authority to the papacy. Basically claiming that after he merged church and state (Nicea c. 325 CE), he handed over control of the Empire to the Pope. It transformed the role of the church from being strictly an entity of religious authority, to having temporal authority over civil and political affairs as well.
In layman's terms turning them into an imperial entity, I.e. having the authority to make decisions for the empire. The reason that it is important is because it further exemplifies the fraudulent way that corrupt Church officials used the backing of imperialism to gain power and spread Christianity as the dominant ideology. This is relevant in the context of viewing the destructive consequences of the church having political authority; i.e. the Saxon wars, Crusades, the Inquisitions, the colonialism brought about by the Doctrine Of Discovery, etc.
The false Authority granted to the church by this fake document directly contributed to facilitating those atrocities.
It's likely the church was aware this document was a fraud but continued to use it to justify their actions for several centuries anyway until it was proven to be a forgery by a bishop in the 1400s.
A fascinating tidbit of history that I learned and figured I would share.
