اللغة أُصولها عربية من لما العرب المسلمين احتلوا جزيرة مالطا Malta بنص البحر المتوسط. بعدين احتلوها مزيج من الأوروبيين وانضافت للغة (ذات الأُصول العربية) كلمات هواي إيطالية. وراها بريطانيا احتلتها وضافوا رشة صغيرة انكليزي

كلمة "وردة" مثلًا بيها مرادفتين، الأولى أُصولها عربية والثانية إيطالية: Zahra & Fjura
