I remember having such conversation with a friend. We both noticed that a lot of prayers are basically begging and often involve belittling oneself.
The former have a softer, wiser, and less slave-ish tone. While the latter sounds more like currying a favor from an angry tyrant.

In the beginning, the existence was blind. There was no knowledge. All of it was a great sea of ignorance.

I have just come from a party where I was its life and soul; witticisms streamed from my lips, everyone laughed and admired me, but I went away... and I wanted to shoot myself.
